  • Former Walmart exec Mullany new president at Toys "R" Us

    Toys “R” Us late Wednesday named Antonio Urcelay CEO and brought in former Walmart executive Hank Mullany to serve in the newly created role of president of U.S. stores.

  • Sleepy’s opens on Lee Highway in Centreville, Va.

    Centreville, Va. — Sleepy’s The Mattress Professionals has opened a 6,700-sq.-ft. store in Centreville Square II on Lee Highway in Centreville, Va.

    A.J. Dwoskin represented the landlord in the lease negotiations. Centreville Square II is a 200,366-sq.-ft. neighborhood center. Current tenants include Party Depot, Five Guys, Wells Fargo, Hair Cuttery and The UPS Store.

  • CBL closes $80 million loan secured loan

    Chattanooga, Tenn. — CBL & Associates Properties, Inc. has closed on an $80 million non-recourse loan secured by The Outlet Shoppes at Atlanta, a 75/25 joint venture with Horizon Group Properties. The 10-year loan bears a 4.9% fixed interest rate. Proceeds from the loan were used to repay a $53.2 million recourse construction loan. CBL www.cblproperties.com used its share of the remaining funds to reduce outstanding balances on the company’s unsecured credit facilities.

  • Neiman Marcus teams up with Popsugar in holiday gift offer

    New York -- Luxury department store retailer Neiman Marcus and Popsugar, a global media and technology company, have partnered to create a limited-edition box filled with a luxury assortment of gifts that can be shipped directly to consumers’ homes.

    Available just in time for the holiday season, the assortment will be hand-selected by Neiman Marcus fashion director Ken Downing and Popsugar founder and editor-in-chief Lisa Sugar. The box is marketed under Popsugar's monthly subscription box service, Popsugar Must Have.

  • Vitamin Shoppe opens distribution center in Virginia

    North Bergen, N.J. – Vitamin Shoppe, Inc. has opened a new 311,740-sq.-ft. distribution center in Ashland, Va. The center began receiving inbound inventory in June 2013 and outbound shipments to stores began in September 2013.

    As of October 15, 2013, the center was shipping inventory to 56 Vitamin Shoppe stores located in Texas, Oklahoma, New Mexico and Louisiana. The center, which was built to the Vitamin Shoppe's specifications, features state-of-the art conveyor and picking and packing systems to move goods and orders throughout the facility.
