  • Gap’s PACE program honored at Clinton Global Initiative

    New York City -- Gap’s Personal Advancement and Career Enhancement program was recognized by former President Bill Clinton at the Clinton Global Initiative, held in New York City. Bob Fisher, son of Gap founders Doris and Don Fisher and a Gap board member, accepted the honor on behalf of the company.

  • Walmart to empower new women's website

    NEW YORK — Walmart took the next step in its goal to help build women's economic empowerment by announcing the launch of a dedicated page on Walmart.com that will feature an assortment of products created by women in nearly two dozen countries, including women who work in cooperatives and own small businesses. The site, which the company expects to be available in spring 2012, will feature such products as jewelry from Guatemala, Thailand and Ethiopia; coffee from Central and South America; and dresses from Kenya.

  • Lee & Associates names execs

    Chicago -- Commercial real estate firm Lee & Associates said it has added two senior VPs to its Chicago office.

    Joseph Herron and Jason Sorce have both joined Lee & Associates Chicago as part of the firm’s expansion in the Midwest.

    The firm also recently added Robyn Smart as a senior advisor in its Indianapolis office.

    Herron joins Lee & Associates from Mid-America Real Estate Corp., where he spent 10 years as a retail broker. Sorce was previously with SRS Real Estate Partners and NAI Hiffman.

  • Express names COO, CFO

    Columbus, Ohio -- Express has promoted Matthew C. Moellering to the position of COO, and appointed D. Paul Dascoli as CFO.

    Moellering was previously chief administration Officer and CFO. Dascoli most recently served as CFO for VF Jeanswear Limited Partnership, a division of VF Corp.

  • Diversity leaders honored at NEW gala

    Former Walmart chief information officer and current HP executive Linda Dillman was among a group of 10 executives honored earlier this week as the inaugural class diversity difference-makers was inducted into the Network of Executive Women CPG Retail Diversity Hall of Fame. The inductees received the William J. Grize Award named after the late president and CEO of Ahold USA whose early support of NEW is credited with jumpstarting the organization, which now includes nearly 5,000 members and 400 companies. Grize died in January 2010 at the age of 63 after a short illness.

  • EEOC accuses Bass Pro of racial discrimination in hiring

    New York City -- The Equal Employment Opportunity Commission filed a lawsuit in U.S. District Court in Houston on Wednesday, charging Bass Pro Outdoor World with alleged racial discrimination in its hiring practices dating back to 2005, the Associated Press reported.

  • SRS Real Estate announces new hire

    Dallas -- SRS Real Estate Partners said it has hired Andrew Cornwell as a research analyst in the Austin/San Antonio office.

    Prior to this role, Cornwell was an intern for SRS where he focused on research while working closely with the investment sales team.
