    Charlotte, N.C. -- The Chambers Group, an X Team International partner, announced it has launched a new website. The revamped website emphasizes The Chambers Group’s local market knowledge, and provides an interactive property listing map that displays properties for sale, for lease and available land.

  • Schnucks Markets names new chief merchant

    Schnucks Markets on Monday named industry veteran Mark Doiron its new chief merchant. Doiron, who has more than 25 years of experience in the food and grocery industries, will be responsible for procurement and merchandising throughout Schnucks’ 99 supermarkets. He serves on the company’s senior management team and reports to Schnucks chairman and CEO Todd Schnuck.

  • 99 Cents Only posts sales decline; names new CFO

    The CEO of 99 Cents Only pointed to the promise of a new executive team as evidence that the company can return to profitable growth even as it reported disappointing third quarter results.

    The company said for the period ended Oct. 30, the company's net sales increased 2.8% to $491.5 million, compared to $478.3 million in the prior year. Same-store sales decreased 3.9% due to challenges in produce and consumables sales, the cannibalization impact of recent new store openings as well as ongoing initiatives to clear excess seasonal inventory, the company said.

  • With merger completed, design firm makes senior appointments

    Callison and RTKL have officially joined forces as CallisonRTKL.

    The firm announced several senior-level appointments to launch its next level of growth:

    Eric Lagerberg (New York) has been named executive VP and will serve as global practice group leader for retail stores and regional director of North America for CallisonRTKL.

  • InvenTrust Properties announces Lance Billingsley as senior VP of leasing

    Oak Brook, Ill. -- InvenTrust Properties Corp. announced the appointment of Lance W. Billingsley as senior VP of leasing. Billingsley will oversee the leasing of the Company’s retail portfolio and manage leasing teams based in Dallas, Houston, Atlanta and Oak Brook, Illinois.

  • Walmart confirms chief marketer resigning

    Walmart confirmed that its CMO, Stephen Quinn, who had held executive marketing positions with the chain for 10 years, will retire in January.

    Michael Francis, Target Corp.'s former marketing guru, has been hired as a consultant. Francis spent 26 years at Target and most recently served as global brand officer for DreamWorks Animation. In August, he announced that he planned to step down from Dreamworks.

  • Ascena Retail Group adds Michaels exec to board

    The Ascena Retail Group is adding a seasoned retail CEO and a legal expert to its board of directors.

    The parent company of Ann Taylor Loft, Ann and other banners announced three changes to its board of directors on Friday. Board member Klaus Eppler is retiring and Carl (“Chuck”) Rubin and Steven L. Kirshenbaum are joining the board.

  • COO is elevated to CEO at BJ's Wholesale Club

    BJ's Wholesale Club has promoted its COO to president and chief executive officer just months after recruiting him from Hess Retail Corp.

    The club retailer announced that Christopher J. Baldwin, BJ's president and chief operating officer, has been named president and CEO, succeeding Laura J. Sen, who is assuming the role of non-executive chairman. The appointment is effective Feb. 1.
