  • Passco names regional marketing representative

    Irvine, Calif. -- Passco Cos. LLC announced that Brad McCord has been hired as regional marketing representative for the company.

    McCord will act as an internal licensed wholesaler and work closely with the sales teams and their marketing efforts.

  • Walmart Foundation gives some "Goodwill" to help single mothers find employment

    ROCKVILLE, Md. -- The Walmart Foundation and Goodwill have teamed up to provide single mothers with all the tools they need to find employment, succeed in the workplace and permanently support their families. The Walmart Foundation's grant of $2.5 million will support the program, known as Beyond Jobs, at Goodwill agencies in the five key markets of Atlanta, Boston, Los Angeles County, Detroit, and New York City, through 2012.

  • Donahue Schriber announces executive retirement

    Costa Mesa, Calif. -- Donahue Schriber said Friday that executive VP Michele Babcock will resign the company, effective March 31.

    During her 15-year tenure, Babcock led the leasing and remerchandising of 33 centers encompassing four million sq. ft. to record performance levels, according to the company.

    Babcock said she is retiring from Donahue Schriber in order to travel, spend more time with her family and focus on charitable pursuits.

  • Report: Kronos retail labor index reaches near two-year high

    Chelmsford, Mass. -- Kronos on Monday announced the release of its Retail Labor Index, which showed a February increase to 4.2% from 3.85% in January. (This metric is defined as the percentage of job applications that result in a hiring, normalized within a scale of 0 to 100. A level of 3.0% means that for every 100 applications received, three hirings occurred.)

    February’s metric is the highest the Index has been since August 2008 when it reached 4.45%, according to Kronos.

    MONTVALE, N.J. — Bankrupt grocer A&P has announced the election of Greg Rayburn to its board of directors, replacing Dr. Jens-Jürgen Böckel, who has resigned from the board.

  • American Apparel names new CFO

    Los Angeles -- American Apparel announced Friday that it has named John J. Luttrell as executive VP and CFO, and moved its current CFO Adrian Kowlewski into the position of executive VP corporate strategy, effective Feb. 7.

    Luttrell was previously CFO of Gap’s Old Navy brand.

  • Diversity event draws some big names

    Target director of owned brands Annie Zipfel is among those slated to participate in the fourth annual Network of Executive Women Multicultural Work force conference to be held March 1 to 3. With a theme of “Building Competencies, Growing Business,” the event will focus on the advantages of developing culturally competent organizations.

  • Liz Claiborne names Juicy Couture CEO as business development exec

    NEW YORK -- Liz Claiborne said Friday that Edgar Huber, CEO of Juicy Couture, will be assuming a new position as executive VP global business development for Liz Claiborne, effective Feb. 14.

    The company said Huber will continue to report to William L. McComb, CEO, Liz Claiborne.

    LeAnn Nealz, president and chief creative officer, and John DeFalco, CFO and COO, will jointly manage the Juicy Couture business while the leadership structure for the brand going forward is determined, according to McComb.
