  • CBL malls in the Midwest give back through National Random Acts of Kindness Week

    Chattanooga, Tenn.-based CBL & Associates Properties said that eleven of its malls in the Midwestern U.S. handed out 6,000 gifts during National Random Acts of Kindness week, Feb. 14-20.

    The program is designed to give back to the community and support local nonprofit groups.

  • Power Plant Live!

    As part of the multimillion-dollar renovation and expansion of Power Plant Live! in Baltimore, The Cordish Cos. announced that entertainment concepts PBR Baltimore and The Baltimore Comedy Factory hosted grand openings the first two weekends in March. 

    These latest downtown destinations join the recently opened Tatu Asian Grill in the restaurant, entertainment and office district that is now going on its 12th year of operations.

  • Five Guys Burgers and Fries to open at Overlake Fashion Plaza

    Redmond, Wash. -- Jacksonville, Fla.-based Regency Centers said it has leased restaurant space in Redmond, Wash., at Overlake Fashion Plaza to Five Guys Burgers and Fries.

    Five Guys has leased 2,475 sq. ft., and is slated to open for business this summer.

    The 80,555-sq.-ft. shopping center is anchored by Marshalls alongside national retailers such as Men’s Wearhouse, Payless Shoe Source, and Avenue.

  • Yogurtland launches New Jersey rollout

    Plymouth Meeting, Pa. -- Fameco Real Estate, L.P. announced that Yogurtland has signed two leases in New Jersey to kick off its store roll-out program.

    The 120-unit yogurt chain will open a 1,300-sq.-ft. store at The Shoppes at Union Hill in Denville, N.J., and a 1,200-sq.-ft. store at Hamilton Marketplace in Hamilton, N.J.

    The stores are expected to open in late spring/early summer.

  • Woman behind Dora licensing named to industry Hall of Fame

    NEW YORK – Leigh Anne Brodsky, president Nickelodeon Consumer Products has been selected for induction into the International Licensing Industry Merchandisers’ Association (LIMA) Licensing Industry Hall of Fame. Brodsky joins a select list of only 36 inductees—including Charles Schulz and Jim Davis, both of whom she worked with earlier in her career—since LIMA began recognizing these giants in 1985. 

  • Michaels, chiropractor to open at Richmond Centre

    Richmond, Ky. -- Charlotte, N.C.-based Crosland LLC announced two new lease signings with Michaels and Chiro One at Richmond Centre, a regional shopping, entertainment and hospitality venue in Richmond, Ky.

    Michaels will open a 20,011-sq.-ft. store as a junior anchor tenant in October.

    Chiro One opened a 2,127-sq.-ft. clinic in February.

  • Additions planned for Legends Outlets Kansas City

    Kansas City, Kan. -- OTB Destination, LLC announced that Chico’s and Soma Intimates outlet concepts will open at Legends Outlets Kansas City in June. Both concepts are new to the region.

  • February retail sales show biggest gain in four months

    New York — U.S. retail sales rose 1% in February, boosted by job gains, the tax cut and more seasonable temperatures, the Commerce Department reported Friday. It was the highest gain in four months. Sales excluding autos increased 0.7%.

    The 1% increase followed a revised 0.7% rise in January that was more than double the previous estimate, according to Commerce Department figures.
