  • Survey: Restaurant loyalty programs have low participation

    New York -- Just one-quarter (25%) of consumers consider loyalty programs important when choosing a restaurant. According to a new study from Deloitte, 50% of survey respondents said they belong to at least one restaurant program, a much lower rate compared with those of other sectors, such as airlines (78%) and hotels (70%).

  • Dickey’s to open three new Barbecue Pits this week

    Dallas — Dickey’s Barbecue Restaurants will open three new Dickey’s Barbecue Pits this week. On April 2, the chain will open a restaurant in Colorado Springs, Colo., and on April 3, two more restaurants will open, one in Gulfport, Miss., and another in Stockton, Calif.

  • Pinkberry enters Japan; plans 50 stores

    Los Angeles – Pinkberry’s is entering the Japanese market with franchisee Royal Holdings. Japan is the 20th country where Pinkberry will operate stores.

    Royal Holdings who operates 722 restaurants across several brands, both full service and QSR concepts. The partnership provides growth opportunities in the market for both traditional stores and non-traditional venues, with an initial development plan for 50 stores.

  • Second Johnny Rockets opens in Kuala Lumpur

    Aliso Viejo, Calif. —  AUM Hospitality has opened the second Johnny Rockets restaurant in Malaysia at Avenue K in Kuala Lumpur, a 360,000-sq.-ft. retail hub. The new Johnny Rockets is the 11th restaurant in the chain to open in Southeast Asia.

    In addition to the two Malaysia, the chain operates six outlets in the Philippines and three in Indonesia.

  • Ballpark Village in St. Louis opens first phase

    St. Louis — The Cordish Cos. and the St. Louis Cardinals celebrated the grand opening of the $100 million first phase of Ballpark Village on March 27.

    The construction of Ballpark Village represents the next step in the Cardinals’ vision for downtown St. Louis that began with the opening of the $411 million privately financed Busch Stadium in April 2006.

  • McDonald’s launches omni-channel coffee promotion

    Oak Brook, Ill. – McDonald’s is offering free McCafe coffee is available during breakfast hours starting March 31 through April 13 in participating restaurants. To kick off the two-week campaign, McDonald's will host "Make Friends with McCafe" sampling events at high traffic locations and transportation hubs in multiple cities across the country.

  • Fridley Market renovation will finish in September

    Westmont, Ill. — Tri-Land Properties has announced that it expects to complete a $21 million renovation of its 20-acre Fridley Market community center by September. Fridley Market is located at the intersection of I-694 and University Avenue, the main north/south spine through Minneapolis-St. Paul.

    The renovation of the 165,000-sq.-ft. center includes building, infrastructure, lighting and pavement improvements as well as new construction.
