  • Belk gets ready for some football

    CHARLOTTE, N.C. — The Belk Bowl today announced that they have finalized a deal that will bring an SEC team to the Belk Bowl beginning in 2014. The agreement extends for six years.

    "We are thrilled to have the SEC as a partner for the Belk Bowl. We look forward to bringing the best of college football to Charlotte," said Tim Belk, Belk's chairman and CEO.

  • JLL closes on four multifamily properties for $120 million

    New York -- Jones Lang LaSalle’s Capital Markets group has closed the sale of four prime multifamily properties in the Dallas area on behalf of four separate sellers. The combined sale price exceeded $120 million.

  • McDonald’s reports slightly higher domestic, global same-store sales in July

    Oak Brook, Ill. – Despite declines in European and Asia-Pacific/Middle East/Africa (APMEA) same-store sales, positive domestic same-store sales performance in July resulted in a small global increase for McDonald’s Corporation. The fast-food giant reported 1.6% domestic same-store sales growth compared to July 2012 as well as 1.9% declines in both Europe and APMEA same-store sales, averaging out to a 0.7% global increase.

  • Celebrating in Gainesville

    A spectacular mixed-use development will soon break ground in Gainesville, Fla. — at the intersection of I-75 and Archer Road. When complete, Celebration Pointe will run more than a half-mile along I-75, the heart of Gainesville’s most successful retail corridor.

    The project’s specs are awesome: 125 acres, 1 million sq. ft., 300,000 sq. ft. of upper-moderate and specialty retail, a huge restaurant and entertainment component, Class A office space, nearly 1,000 multifamily residential units, a branded hotel.

    New York  — New Street Realty Advisors has announced two recent transactions:

  • Health retailer elevates Mack to CFO

    Max-Wellness, the health and wellness retail concept founded by former OfficeMax CEO Michael Feuer, named VP of finance Tom Mack to the newly created role of SVP and chief financial and administrative officer.

    Mack joined the company in the fall of 2011 as controller and was elevated to the vp of finance role last year. Max-Wellness operates six stores, three in the Cleveland area, two in Naples, Fl., and one in nearby Sarasota.

  • Dunkin' Donuts to add eight units in Rochester, N.Y.

    Canton, Mass. -- Dunkin' Donuts said it will open eight new restaurants in Rochester, N.Y., via a multi-unit store development agreement executed with existing franchisee Luis Ribeiro.

    Ribeiro currently owns 25 of the 61 Dunkin' Donuts in the Greater Rochester area.  

    "We expect 10 to 20 new Dunkin' Donuts restaurants to open in Rochester over the next few years," said Grant Benson, VP franchising and business development, Dunkin' Brands.

  • Red Robin plans grand opening in Nyack, N.Y.

    Greenwood Village, Colo. — Red Robin Gourmet Burgers will open a new restaurant at Palisades Center Mall in Nyack, N.Y., on Aug. 19.

    To help celebrate the grand opening, Red Robin will donate all receipts from the first week of sales of its signature Freckled Lemonade to Alex’s Lemonade Stand Foundation, a non-profit organization that supports research into cures for children’s cancer.
