  • CBRE to manage properties for Carlson

    Los Angeles — The CBRE Group has signed a multi-year contract with Carlson to provide project management for select locations in the United States including the company’s world headquarters. Carlson is a family-owned, global hospitality and travel industry company with more than 1,300 hotels in operation and development and more than 900 restaurants worldwide.

  • Redeveloping Waikiki retail

    The few blocks surrounding the Honolulu intersection of Kalakaua and Ka’iulani Avenues boasts the highest pedestrian traffic in the world-renowned Waikiki retail district. The count exceeds 22,000 visitors per day. And it is rising as recovering international economies enable tourists from around the world — and especially from the Asia-Pacific countries of Japan, China and South Korea — to respond to the beckoning call of Hawaii’s Big Island of Oahu.

  • Nordstrom Rack to open in Dayton, Ohio

    Seattle — Nordstrom plans to open a 35,000-sq.-ft. Nordstrom Rack at The Greene Town Center in Dayton, Ohio, in the fall of 2014. Olshan Properties, formerly known as MPI, Mall Properties, Inc., manages The Greene Town Center.

    Nordstrom Rack has four other locations in Ohio, two of which opened this past fall in Columbus and Westlake. Another Rack location is set to open at Sun Center in Columbus this spring. Nordstrom operates three full-line stores in Ohio.

  • Robert Graham to open store at Mohegan Sun resort

    New York – Robert Graham has signed a new lease agreement to open a branded retail store featuring the full Robert Graham collection in The Shops at Mohegan Sun in Uncasville, Conn. The store will carry the complete range of Robert Graham apparel products.

  • Groupon bolsters international ops and tech team

    Groupon has named Tamer Tamar as SVP of international operations and Sri Subramaniam as VP of engineering for smart deals.

    “We’re thrilled to have Tamer and Sri join Groupon and bring their incredible talent to our expanding bench of senior executives,” said CEO Eric Lefkofsky. “Tamer and Sri will accelerate Groupon’s plans to grow our international operations and deliver more and more relevant deals to our customers throughout the world.”

  • Mall Properties is now Olshan Properties

    New York -- MPI — Mall Properties, Inc., a private owner, developer and operator of commercial real estate — has changed its name to Olshan Properties.

  • Polaroid Fotobar to open Las Vegas flagship

    New York -- Polaroid Fotobar will open an 8,500-sq.-ft. flagship at The LINQ, a new retail, dining and entertainment district in Las Vegas by Caesars Entertainment.

    The retail format made its debut in 2013, with  three stores in Florida ( Delray Beach, Orlando and Miami). Upcoming plans include another location in Florida, in Boca Raton.

  • Bojangles’ names new CEO

    Charlotte, N.C. -- Bojangles' Restaurants Inc. has appointed Clifton Rutledge as CEO effective Jan. 24. Rutledge joins Bojangles' from Texas-based hamburger chain Whataburger, succeeding current CEO Randy Kibler, who announced his plans to retire from this role in September 2013 but will remain active as chairman of the company's board of directors. Additionally, Bojangles' has promoted its senior VP of company operations Kenny Avery to COO.
