  • Sugar and Plumm to open second Manhattan location

    New York City -- Dallas-based SRS Real Estate Partners said that Sugar and Plumm - Purveyors of Yumm has leased 1,050 sq. ft. at the northwest corner of Bleecker and Cornelia Streets in the West Village area of Manhattan.

    Sugar and Plumm opened its first location last summer at Bergen Town Center in Paramus, N.J., and will open its first Manhattan location on the Upper West Side this spring. A third location is under development in Downtown Brooklyn.
     

  • Dave & Buster’s hires BJ’s VP to head up store development

    Dallas -- Dave & Buster's Inc. named John Mulleady as senior VP development, responsible for leading the company's expansion strategy into new and under-penetrated markets. He most recently served as VP real estate and construction at BJ's Wholesale Club.

    "Dave & Buster's has big plans for expansion, and we needed a leader with experience opening a large number of new stores. John's background in developing large-format brands makes him the ideal person to lead this charge,” said Steve King, CEO of Dave & Buster's.
     

  • Gregory’s Coffee adds fifth location in Manhattan

    New York -- Gregorys Coffee said Thursday it has executed a new lease at 878 6th Avenue (Between 31st and 32nd St.) in Herald Square, as part of the expansion efforts of the coffee shop chain throughout Manhattan.

    The new site is scheduled to open its doors in June.

    The two-story location will feature 1,000 sq. ft. on the second floor, set up as a training center.
     

  • Inland acquires Bayonne Crossing Shopping Center for $75.2 million

    Bayonne, N.J. -- Inland Real Estate Acquisitions announced it has acquired Bayonne Crossing, a 356,647-sq.-ft. shopping center in Bayonne, N.J., for approximately $75.2 million.

    Located just off the Hudson River and across from Manhattan, the acquisition includes a 91,109-sq.-ft. Wal-Mart Urban Store and a 146,583-sq.-ft. Lowe’s Home Improvement, both anchor tenants on ground leases purchased by Inland Real Estate Acquisitions.

  • Teavana, Ecco and Henri Hubert open at Westfield San Francisco Centre, Tiffany on deck

    San Francisco -- Westfield announced that Tiffany will open on level 1 of the center, next to Bloomingdale’s, in fall 2012.

    The luxury jewelry will join just-opened tea purveyor Teavana, Danish footwear retailer Ecco and men’s apparel store Henri Hubert San Francisco.

    Chocolate house Ghirardelli will open a new store -- Chirardelli Ice Cream & Chocolate Shop -- in April, and Marbles: The Brain Store will open in the summer.

    Francesca’s Collection is under construction.

  • Ruby Tuesday selects USM for integrated facilities management

    Norwalk, Conn. -- Emcor Group announced that its subsidiary, USM, has been awarded a three-year contract for integrated facilties management at 742 Ruby Tuesday-owned restaurants throughout the United States. 

  • Starbucks ramping up expansion in China

    New York -- Starbucks Coffee Co. is planning to a major push into smaller cities in China, with a target of 1,500 stores in more than 70 Chinese cities by 2015, Bloomberg reported.

    China will become the chain’s second largest market outside the United States, the report said. Currently, Starbucks has about 500 outlets in China and operates in 48 cities.

  • Micros expands partnership with Bertucci’s Italian Restaurant

    Columbia, Md. -- Micros Systems  announced that Bertucci’s Italian Restaurant has expanded its partnership with Micros through the deployment of Micros webOrdering, a fully integrated online ordering program, and the cloud-based back-office platform, mymicros.net.
