  • Wahlburgers to open three franchise Las Vegas stores

    Hingham, Mass. – Fast-casual burger chain Wahlburgers has signed a three-restaurant franchise agreement in Las Vegas with Vegas American Hospitality Inc. Wahlburgers will debut in Las Vegas in early 2015 with the opening of its first restaurant at a location soon to be disclosed.  

  • Fitch: Inversion rules won’t deter Burger King/Tim Horton's merger

    Chicago -- The strategic merits of Burger King Worldwide's leveraged buy-out of Tim Hortons Inc. will be tested by Monday's enactment of tightened U.S. Treasury tax rules on U.S. companies seeking to re-domicile their headquarters in countries with more favorable tax systems, according to Fitch Ratings. The new regulation is meant to reduce the attractiveness of inversions and is effective immediately.

  • Taco John’s selects InMoment’s customer experience, optimization platform

    Salt Lake City -- Mexican restaurant chain Taco John’s is partnering with InMoment, a cloud-based customer experience optimization platform that gives companies the ability to listen to and engage with customers to improve business results. InMoment is providing the technology for Tell TJ, Taco John’s guest satisfaction survey program.

  • McAlister’s Deli to expand franchises in five states

    Alpharetta, Ga. - McAlister's Deli has signed an agreement with existing franchise group Southern Deli Holdings LLC to open 10 additional locations throughout North and South Carolina, Colorado and Wyoming, with three locations slated to open in late 2014. In addition, the franchise group recently acquired seven existing locations in St. Louis.

    The new development commitments will result in two new restaurants per year during the next five years.

    Richardson, Texas -- KDC announced it has agreed to sell land to Look Cinemas to build a 60,000-sq.-ft. upscale dining and movie theatre complex at CityLine, the company’s 186-acre mixed-use project in Richardson, Texas.

    Flushing, Queens -- Onex Real Estate Partners announced The Shops at SkyView Center has welcomed five new tenants to the growing roster of retailers during the third quarter.
     
    The newest addition to Flushing’s mixed-use, multi-level shopping center includes Nordstrom Rack, the off-price retail division of Nordstrom, which officially opened on Sept. 10. Additionally, Justice & Brothers, a national retailer known for the best in tween fashion and accessories, catering to both boys and girls, has opened on Level D.
