  • Choza Taqueria to open third Manhattan location

    New York — Choza Taqueria, a Manhattan-based Mexican restaurant, has signed a lease for its third location at 100 Park Avenue, between 40th and 41st Streets. The new location will reach a lunchtime crowd from the area’s many Class A offices and the business commuters and visitors passing through Grand Central Station.

    Winick Realty Group represented Choza, which currently operates storefronts on Madison Avenue and 27th Street and Macdougal Street and Bleecker Street.

  • Mall of America kicks off $325 million expansion

    Bloomington, Minn. -- Mall of America has launched a $325 million expansion project in cooperation with Mortenson, a U.S.-based construction and development services company, Hotel Development LLC, an enterprise of the Shakopee Mdewakanton Sioux Community, and the city of Bloomington, Minn.

  • VeriFone, Xpient partner on PaaS tool

    San Jose, Calif. -- VeriFone Systems, Inc. is partnering with Xpient Solutions to provide payment-as-a-service (PaaS) solution for quick service restaurant (QSR) and fast-casual dining markets. The solution enhances security through payment system isolation and end-to-end encryption while providing a pathway to EMV and NFC payment acceptance at the point-of-sale (POS).
     

  • Banana Republic to open in Yonkers, N.Y., development

    Yonkers, N.Y. – Banana Republic will become a new retailer at the Ridge Hill shopping center in Yonkers, N.Y. Forest City Ratner Companies (FCRC), the developer and owner of Ridge Hill, said the Banana Republic location will open beneath the center's Uniqlo store.

  • Report: Northbrook, Ill., considers retail development

    Northbrook, Ill. – Trustees of Northbrook, Ill. reportedly are considering a 43,000-sq.-ft. retail development. According to the Chicago Tribune, the development sits on a four-acre parcel near the border with Glenview, Ill., which is owned by Svigos Asset Management.

  • CVS, The Boulevard restaurant ink leases at Queens center

    Queens, N.Y. — A CVS Pharmacy and The Boulevard, a new family restaurant, have leased space in the Francis Lewis Boulevard Shopping Center in the Whitestone section of Queens, N.Y.

    The CVS transaction is a lease renewal for an existing 13,500-sq.-ft. pharmacy. The Boulevard has taken 4,000 sq. ft. and plans to open by the end of March.

    The Francis Lewis Boulevard tenant lineup also includes McDonalds, First Savings Bank, Kumon and Aphrodite Sweets.

  • DC Homevet to Brookland Plaza in Washington, D.C.

    Washington, D.C. — DC Homevet has leased a 4,400-sq.-ft. location in Brookland Plaza in Washington, D.C.’s northeastern quadrant. DC Homevet will operate District Veterinary Hospital and Concierge Medicine Center. The Center will provide medicine, surgery, concierge and specialized services primarily for dogs and cats.

    Divaris Real Estate, the property’s leasing agent, represented the landlord, Jan and Anna Slamen Family Trust in the transaction.

  • Kronos appoints new CEO

    Kronos Foods, a privately held, leading manufacturer of gyros and other Mediterranean and specialty foods, has named Howard Eirinberg as the company's CEO.

    Eirinberg, who succeeds long-time CEO Michael Austin, now chairman of Kronos Food, joined the company in 2011 to lead all sales and marketing initiatives for the company's wide-ranging operations in meat, bakery, dairy, dessert, restaurant and distribution. Eirinberg is credited for growing sales by launching new products like chicken shawarma into the club and foodservice channels.
