Hy-Vee rolls out digital price tags

Hy-Vee deployed VusionGroup digital shelf tags.

A regional Midwest grocery/convenience chain is updating prices and product information at select stores in real time.

Hy-Vee Inc. has implemented the VusionGroup platform to digitalize shelf tags at more than 230 of its stores. These stores are now able to update product prices and data automatically, streamlining the previous labor-intensive process of printing and hanging paper price tags. 

In addition, flashing LEDs on each electronic shelf label help guide employees during the order preparation process, increasing productivity of online order fulfillment. Digitalizing shelf tags has also enabled Hy-Vee employees to focus more on tasks such as replenishment, merchandising, and customer service. 

The retailer automatically connects VusionGroup Internet of Things technology to existing wireless access points, eliminating the need for additional hardware in the store which in turn reduces the solution’s carbon footprint and operational costs.
