Hibbett partners with Walmart, Salesforce for online delivery
Hibbett customers can now place same- or next-day delivery for thousands of items with fulfillment from local stores.
Hibbett is utilizing the Walmart white-label GoLocal “delivery-as-a-service” platform and Salesforce Commerce Cloud to provide delivery of online orders from hundreds of Hibbett and City Gear stores across the country. Walmart teams up with Salesforce to give retailers that use Salesforce Commerce Cloud access to its local pickup and delivery services.
While shopping on the Hibbett e-commerce site, Hibbett and City Gear customers can sort products available for same- or next-day delivery at checkout according to their ZIP code.
The athletic-inspired apparel retailer has enabled store associates to ship merchandise to an adjacent store or a customer's home if the product they seek is out of stock using Oracle cloud technology since March 2023.

Walmart GoLocal – a primer
Walmart initially launched its white-label GoLocal “delivery-as-a-service” offering in October 2021. The managed service platform provides nationwide delivery capabilities on a range of products, including those with size and complex requirements, as well as the flexibility to meet varying timelines.
The discount giant built the service on the existing infrastructure supporting the Express Delivery same-day delivery service it rolled out in 2020. This includes drones, autonomous vehicles and market fulfillment centers.
Hibbett, headquartered in Birmingham, Ala., is an athletic-inspired apparel retailer with 1,133 Hibbett and City Gear specialty stores located in 36 states nationwide. The company entered into a deal to be acquired by JD Sports for $1.1 billion in April 2024.
