Bain & Company took the #1 spot retailer in Glassdoor's 16th annual Employees’ Choice Awards.

A strong culture and values, employee-centric practices, work-life balance and growth opportunities are a few of the common themes that companies on an annual list of the best places to work share.

The highest ranking retailer on the 16th annual Employees’ Choice Awards from job and recruiting site Glassdoor is  regional grocer H-E-B, which took the No. 22 spot (out of 100) on the list. Bain & Company took the #1 spot and is one of two companies (along with Google) that has ranked among the Best Places to Work for all 17 years.

The awards, which honor the Best Places to Work 2025 across the U.S. and U.K., are based on the input of employees who voluntarily provide anonymous feedback on Glassdoor by completing a company review about their job, work environment and employer over the past year.

Here are the eight retailers who made the list.

No. 22: H-E-B

No. 30: Trader Joe’s

No. 39: Lululemon

No. 72: QuikTrip

No. 84: Grainger

No. 88: Kwik Trip

Employees’ Choice Award winners for the Best Places to Work 2025 are determined using Glassdoor’s proprietary awards algorithm and each employer’s rating determined based on the quantity, quality and consistency of Glassdoor-approved company reviews submitted by U.S.-based employees between Oct. 17, 2023 and Oct. 16, 2024.
