Grubhub is consolidating its tech stack to connect disparate parts of the company.

The on-demand delivery provider is deploying a productivity platform from Salesforce to streamline its operations and improve productivity, and says it has saved $1 million to date by doing so. Grubhub is leveraging Salesforce solutions including Slack, Sales Cloud, Service Cloud, Tableau and Heroku.

Details of how Grubhub is utilizing specific Salesforce modules include:

  • Grubhub is using Slack to help sales collaborate with the onboarding, fulfillment and customer success teams, allowing them to collaborate on urgent requests and work together on longer-term, strategic initiatives.
  • Service Cloud and Sales Cloud help streamline Grubhub’s operations and improve sales productivity by managing the complete sales cycle from lead generation to onboarding.
  • Tableau enables Grubhub to monitor real-time business performance, including active diners, orders, and gross transaction value, with analytics integrated directly into the flow of work.
  • Leveraging Heroku, independent restaurant owners that utilize the Grubhub Direct platform which aids tasks such as developing and managing customized ordering websites, direct marketing, and collecting and analyzing customer data can customize their own app-based customer loyalty program using a pre-built template.

“An essential part of being a good partner to our merchants is having the tools to help them improve their operations and grow their businesses,” said Maegan Rolando, director of merchant supply strategy and operations, Grubhub. “With Salesforce’s automated solutions, we’ve standardized our internal processes and increased our team’s productivity, freeing us up to sign more new partners and give better counsel to our existing merchant network.”

“We are excited to work with Grubhub, a market leader that is using data, automation, and CRM across its impressive business to succeed,” said Christina Meitus, executive VP, head of professional services – Americas and Salesforce Chicago executive site leader. “This joint collaboration also builds on our shared values of giving back, directly impacting the Chicago community and fueling growth and prosperity, where innovation investments drive positive impacts across the city and in dozens of communities.”

Based in Chicago, Grubhub is part of Just Eat Takeaway.com, a U.S. food ordering and delivery marketplace, and features more than 365,000 restaurant partners in over 4,000 U.S. cities.
