Fresh Thyme introduces in-store pickup

A Midwestern specialty grocer is launching a new service enabling customers to pick up online orders at local brick-and-mortar stores.

Fresh Thyme Market now offers Fresh Thyme Market Pickup, a solution which provides online goods at in-store prices. Each online pickup order is picked fresh and packed by a store associate who is fully trained to pick the best quality products.

Online pickup shoppers also have the ability to cancel or edit their order until the picking begins. Customers place orders via a dedicated page on the Fresh Thyme e-commerce site.

Fresh Thyme also partners with the Target-owned Shipt online grocery service to provide same-day delivery to more than 10 million households in 30 metro areas across the Midwest region. Michigan residents of legal drinking age in the Detroit, Grand Rapids, Kalamazoo, and Lansing metro areas will also receive access to same-day delivery of beer and wine.

In addition to signing up for a Shipt membership, customers also have the option to pay per delivery with a one-time fee, no obligations or commitment. Fresh Thyme’s same-day delivery options include products that follow vegan, paleo, keto, vegetarian or wheat- and gluten-free diets. Shipt members can select Fresh Thyme in the Shipt app or site to add the grocer’s products to their order.

Other online delivery options for Fresh Thyme customers include a partnership with the DoorDash on-demand delivery platform. Door Dash deliveries are available to Fresh Thyme customers in Chicago, Cincinnati, Milwaukee, Detroit, and Indianapolis. Fresh Thyme customers are also eligible for membership in the DashPass subscription service that offers members unlimited free delivery fees and reduced service fees.
