New England-based furniture retailer Jordan’s Furniture has opened its eighth location.

Known for its larger-than-life stores that combine retail with entertainment, Jordan's has opened its doors at Westfarms shopping center in Farmington, Conn. The new location features more than 120,000 sq. ft. of space, with a wide array of furniture and mattresses on display as well as an outlet center.

The store includes a 5,000 sq. ft. entertainment attraction and restaurant with a massive, 80-foot long LED that extends from the floor to the ceiling and displays scenes from around the world, sporting events, beautiful landscapes, historical landmarks and more.

Shoppers can enter the store, which is housed in the former Lord & Taylor building, from inside the mall via an 8-foot long LED tunnel.

This is Jordan's second location in Connecticut. It opened its first in 2015, in New Haven. Some 20,000 sq. ft. of the store is devoted to entertainment attractions that include an elaborate indoor rope course, IMAX theatre, a water show complete with light and sound effects and a pizzeria.

“Our new Farmington store at Westfarms will be a destination, especially with the Jordan’s Wall, which is one LED screen made up of over 300 smaller ones," said Jordan’s co-CEO Josh Tatelman. "Our Westfarms location will be one-stop shopping for not only furniture and mattresses but also entertainment, and much more. We are excited about this new store and look forward to being an active member of the local community."

In addition to its two Connecticut stores, Jordan's, which says it has one of the highest grossing sales per square foot records in the United States, has locations in Avon, Mass.; Natick, Mass.; Reading, Mass.; Nashua, N.H.; Warwick, R.I.; and Portland, Maine,  along with a distribution center in Taunton, Mass.

Anchored by Nordstrom, Macy’s, JCPenney and now Jordan’s Furniture, Westfarms features a tenant mix of 156 stores and restaurants. Jordan’s other store locations include Avon, Natick and Reading, Mass., Nashua, N.H., Warwick, R.I., New Haven, Conn. and Portland, Maine. The retailer also operates a distribution center in Taunton, Mass.

“What keeps Westfarms exciting for our customers is our commitment to bringing unique-to-market retailers and outstanding merchandise to the center,” said Elizabeth Ryan, general manager of Westfarms. “Jordan’s Furniture upholds this commitment with its extensive selection of home interiors and a shopper experience that cannot be found anywhere else in the market.”
