The Jordan Brand, which is part of Nike, has brought its basketball-focused store concept home to the United States.
The company, which is part of Nike, has opened its first World of Flight store in the U.S., on Walnut Street in Philadelphia. Additional outposts are planned in key cities across the country. To date, the concept has opened in five global locations: Mexico City, Beijing, Seoul, Tokyo and Milan.

Described as one-of-a-kind retail experience, World of Flight is designed as a destination retail experience. It showcases exclusive product collections, storytelling and more in a space that serves as a tribute to Philadelphia's rich basketball culture, with murals and memorabilia that pay homage to Michael Jordan’s legacy.
Housed in a historic Beaux Arts building constructed in the early 1900s, the two-story, nearly 7,000-sq.-ft. store is home to the broadest available assortment of Jordan Brand footwear, apparel and accessories. It features a customization room, with many of the options exclusive to the locations. The room also displays memorabilia that includes all six sneakers Jordan wore while winning an NBA championship among other items.
World of Flight will also feature community events, as well as exclusive and "high-heat" product drops.
The company noted that Jordan played the final game of his NBA career in Philadelphia in 2003; Jordan Brand co-founder Larry Miller was born and raised there; and Jordan Brand athletes Jalen Hurts and Jared McCain represent the city on the national stage.
Philadelphia is also home to a thriving local hoops scene and diehard fans of the hometown 76ers, one of the most storied franchises in the NBA.
"World of Flight is a direct portal to our brand and represents the pinnacle of basketball culture,” said Sarah Mensah, president, Jordan Brand. “Opening our first World of Flight door in the U.S. in Philadelphia, where Michael Jordan played his last game and Jalen Hurts is redefining greatness on the football field, is emblematic of the stories, legacy and achievements we continue to create and uplift."
