Bed Bath & Beyond and The Container Store’s retail co-branding efforts are underway.

The two retailers will open their first co-branded location in Fort Worth, Texas, on Saturday, May 16. The new store concept combines The Container Store’s organizing solutions, design services and expertise with Bed Bath & Beyond’s home essentials, resulting in a “more complete home destination” for consumers.

The format expands core departments of The Container Store such as kitchen, bath and closet with small appliances and textiles, while adding new areas customers know from Bed Bath & Beyond, including dining, bedding and curtains. It also reintroduces familiar elements of Bed Bath & Beyond stores, including its iconic towel wall and curated bed displays.

In April, The Container Store announced that its 98 stores nationwide would begin resetting selling floors to prepare for the "phased integration" of Bed Bath & Beyond products. Earlier in the month, Bed Bath & Beyond Inc. announced plans to purchase The Container Store for $150 million in stock and convertible notes.

“This is an exciting step forward as we continue bringing our Everything Home vision to life,” said Amy Sullivan, president of Bed Bath & Beyond, Inc., who recently detailed the company’s upcoming initiatives in an interview with Chain Store Age. “By bringing together the strengths of these two iconic brands, we’re creating a more connected shopping experience that combines inspiration, organization, solutions and value for customers across every room in the home.”

In the coming months, Bed Bath & Beyond Inc. says its products will roll out in a phased approach across The Container Store’s locations, as well as online at containerstore.com. Over time, the company expects to operate more than 300 stores across multiple formats, including co-branded stores, neighborhood formats, Bed Bath & Beyond Seasonal Living, and Buy Buy Baby locations.

In January, Bed Bath & Beyond CEO Marcus Lemonis outlined a three-part strategy to transform Bed Bath & Beyond Inc. into an “Everything Home Company.”
