Federal Realty has decided to make a COVID-19-inspired curbside pickup program a permanent feature at its centers, something Kimco did last week.

Branded as The Pick-Up, the program is available to tenants at all of Federal’s shopping centers in the Greater Philadelphia market. Customers can place orders by phone or online and arrange for same-day pick-up at a time most convenient for them.

One such tenant, Justin Rosenberg, owner of Honeygrow in Bala Cynwyd, Pa. and Cherry Hill, N.J., is happy to see the service installed on a permanent basis.

"Customers are notified by text and our team can run their order out to their car with a completely contactless exchange,” Rosenberg said. “Federal helps us meet a new demand with this program.

Federal intends to expand the service in response to changes in customer shopping habits.

"We see this as a long-term solution to finding even more convenient ways for customers to shop," says Federal VP of leasing Jeff Fischer.

Federal properties in the area include Federal properties, including Bala Cynwyd Shopping Center, Lancaster Shopping Center, Langhorne Square, and Lawrence Park Shopping Center.
