David’s Bridal transforms stores into tech hubs with Shopify integration
David’s Bridal is unifying e-commerce and brick-and-mortar operations in partnership with Shopify.
The bridal and special occasion dress retailer is leveraging technology from the e-commerce platform in an effort to create a more flexible, dynamic omnichannel and in-store point of sale experience. This effort builds upon the recent David's Bridal-Shopify partnership to launch “Diamonds & Pearls," a luxe boutique concept featuring interactive in-store touchscreens running on Shopify, and is part of a broader shift to an asset-light, AI-powered business model known as "Aisle to Algorithm."

"At David's, we're not just evolving - we're reimagining the entire bridal journey from inspiration to purchase, all through an AI, digital, asset-lite lens," said Kelly Cook, CEO of David's Bridal. "By integrating with Shopify, we're delivering unmatched, real-time access to our full selection of bridal and special occasion offerings through true commerce fluidity, resulting in a more seamless customer shopping experience. This isn't just digital transformation - it's shopping redefined."
Leveraging Shopify's platform, David's will:
- Enable "endless aisle" shopping by letting customers browse its full product catalog on interactive digital touchscreens in-store, purchase at the POS and ship directly to home.
- Provide faster checkout, flexible payment options and seamless online-to-offline cart integration.
- Enable real-time visibility across stores and online in an effort to ensure better availability and fewer stockouts.
- Create a centralized hub for catalog, pricing, promotions and inventory to help reduce operational complexity.
- Enable automatic feature updates and built-in compliance to eliminate on-premise servers and manual patching.
- Provide an intuitive back end enabling faster staff onboarding, real-time customer insights and more efficient returns and exchanges.
David's selected Deloitte Digital to provide implementation, consulting and strategy work. Deloitte Digital also helped develop the Diamonds and Pearls store model.
"Shopify gives brands the tools to build the future of commerce on their own terms,” said Harley Finkelstein, president of Shopify. “David's Bridal is using our technology and a deep understanding of their customer to reimagine the bridal shopping experience - whether online, in-store or anywhere in between. That's what excites us: helping iconic brands deliver for real people, at real moments, in ways that were never possible before."
David’s Bridal operates more than 190 stores located across the United States, Canada and franchise locations in Mexico.
