Crate & Barrel unifies payment and customer experience across channels

Crate & Barrel is unifying its payment and shopping experience.

Crate & Barrel Holdings Inc. is seamlessly enabling customers to shop and make purchases at any touchpoint.

The specialty home furnishings retailer is deploying the Adyen unified commerce solution online and across its 110 Crate & Barrel and CB2 physical retail stores in the U.S. and Canada.

By using this solution, Crate & Barrel Holdings intends to implement connected customer experiences across all channels. The company sees nearly an equal split between transactions completed in-person and through e-commerce.

"This partnership enhances the shopping experience for Crate & Barrel and CB2 customers by quickly advancing our omnichannel strategy," said Janet Hayes, CEO of Crate and Barrel Holdings. "As a result, our customers can enjoy a seamless shopping and payment experience any way they choose to shop with us."

Crate & Barrel can now consolidate all payment channels and transactions in one system, enabling actionable insights into all customer behaviors without the previous limitations of information silos.

Crate & Barrel is unveiling its new unified omnichannel customer experience in the midst of a multi-year investment plan called “Bring it Home,” focused on what the retailer says says will be "significant" spending on talent, technology, and infrastructure.

The stated goal of Bring it Home is "delivering a seamless, premium and personalized customer experience through a digital-first operating model and modern technology foundation."
