  • Profitero bolsters global leadership team

    Profitero, a leading global provider of online insights and e-commerce intelligence for retailers and brands, has appointed Keith Anderson as VP, strategy and insights, as part of its strategy to further expand into North America.

    In this newly created role, Anderson will lead the continuous innovation of Profitero's online solutions, helping retailers and brands gain a deeper understanding of their online presence to optimize their online and in-store sales.

  • RKF announces broker promotions

    New York -- RKF has announced a number of promotions for senior brokerage professionals in its New York City headquarters office. The promotions come closely on the heels of RKF’s expansion of its New York headquarters space at 521 Fifth Avenue in midtown Manhattan.

  • Unilever drops Slim-Fast

    Unilever has sold its Slim-Fast brand to Kainos Capital. The supplier of food, home and personal care products will retain a minority stake in the business. Terms of the transaction, which was completed late this week, were not disclosed.

    The transaction includes the Slim-Fast trademark and the global Slim-Fast business portfolio. Slim-Fast is sold throughout North America and in the United Kingdom and Ireland.

  • LPGA event a cause for donations

    While Walmart and the Walton family were taking heat, again, on the national stage over worker pay and alleged stinginess, it was a different situation in Northwest Arkansas where generosity was in plain view.

    The Walmart NW Arkansas Championship presented by P&G is underway at the Pinnacle Country Club and as has been the case in years past the LPGA golf tournament is accompanied by numerous charitable donations.

  • 99¢ Only Stores signs 615,000-sq.-ft. industrial lease

    Commerce, Calif. — 99¢ Only Stores has signed a lease for the entire 615,000-sq.-ft. Garfield Corporate Center in Commerce, California, in Los Angeles County. It is the largest industrial infill lease ever signed in Los Angeles County. In addition, the building ranks as the largest freestanding building to be constructed in Greater Los Angeles in the past 10 years.

    JLL represented the landlord, KTR Capital Partners, the property’s developer and landlord, in the transaction.

  • Newell CEO joins Colgate board

    Newell Rubbermaid president and CEO Michael Polk has joined the board of directors of Colgate-Palmolive. The move comes a little more than a month after the CPG company’s shareholders elected a slate of 10 directors.

  • Unilever to sell North American pasta sauces business

    Unilever has signed an agreement for the sale of its North America pasta sauces business under the Ragu and Bertolli brands to Mizkan Group for a total cash consideration of approximately $2.15 billion. The annual turnover for Ragu and Bertolli is more than $600 million.

    The transaction includes two production facilities — a sauce processing and packaging facility in Owensboro, Ky., and a tomato processing facility in Stockton, Calif.
