  • Kmart, Sears launch in-store concept for healthcare fashions

    QUINCY, Mass. - Retailer Work 'N Gear announced that it has teamed up with Sears and Kmart to launch America's first "store-within-a store" concept for healthcare fashions in select locations in six markets.

    Called "Scrubology", the retail concept feature approximately 600 to 1,500 sq. ft. of space within Sears and Kmart stores, dedicated to the uniform needs of professionals who work as doctors, nurses, veterinarians, lab technicians and more.

  • JLL brokers sale of Bradley Square Mall

    Cleveland, Tenn. -- Atlanta-based Jones Lang LaSalle said it has completed the sale of Bradley Square Mall in Cleveland, Tenn., to Baton Rouge, La.-based MD Ruston Properties, LLC on behalf of a special servicer.

    The 406,845-sq.-ft. regional mall is anchored by Belk, J.C. Penney, Sears and Kmart.

  • Coyote Management names Lakeshore Mall GM

    Gainesville, Ga. - Addison, Texas-based Coyote Management, L.P. announced that Debora M. Overholt has been named general manager for Lakeshore Mall, in Gainesville, Ga.

    Lakeshore Mall, opened in 1969, and is a single-level, 517,153-sq.-ft. enclosed regional mall anchored by J.C. Penney, Sears and Belk.

  • Sears selects EnerNOC to help capture energy savings

    Boston — EnerNOC, a leading provider of data-driven energy efficiency applications, announced that Sears Holdings has selected EnerNOC's EfficiencySMART Commissioning, which blends traditional commissioning services with real-time, persistent commissioning technology, to drive energy savings at its 2.4 million-sq.-ft. corporate headquarters in Hoffman Estates, Ill., a 2010 Energy Star rated facility.

     

  • Destination Maternity Q4 profit triples

    Philadelphia -- Destination Maternity said its fourth-quarter net income tripled as cost-cutting measures paid off, even as sales in some categories fell.

    The company earned almost $4.3 million for the quarter that ended Sept. 30, up from $1.4 million during the same period last year. Revenue rose slightly to $124.3 million, from $123.8 million a year earlier. Same-store sales fell 2.3%.

  • Sears loss widens in Q3

    Hoffman Estates, Ill. -- Sears Holdings Corp. reported Thursday that its loss for the quarter ended Oct. 31 widened to $218 million, compared with a loss of $127 million in the year-ago period. The loss was more than analysts expected as margins fell and sales dropped, especially at the company's namesake stores.

    "While Kmart improved profitability, our third-quarter results were disappointing, in large part due to lower sales of apparel and appliances at Sears," said interim CEO W. Bruce Johnson.
