  • DSW names former Starbucks exec as human resources head

    Columbus, Ohio -- DSW announced Tuesday that it has Todd S. Cordell as senior VP human resources, effectively immediately.

    Cordell will be responsible for all HR activities in support of DSW Stores, DSW.com, and the DSW Leased Business Division. 

    Cordell was previously VP human resources for Starbucks Coffee Co.

  • Pita Pit, Yolicious to open at Orchards Market Center, Phase II

    Vancouver, Wash. -- Jacksonville, Fla.-based Regency Centers said it has leased retail space to Pita Pit and Yolicous, which will open in a 2,032-sq.-ft. space this summer at Orchard Market Center, Phase II, located in Vancouver, Wash.

    The 178,000-sq.-ft. shopping center is anchored by Wholesale Sports and LA Fitness, alongside national retailers such as Jo-Ann, Office Depot, Petco and Starbucks.

  • Noodles & Co. to open at Village Center at Dulles

    Herndon, Va. -- Jacksonville, Fla.-based Regency Centers said that it has leased space at Village Center at Dulles, located in Herndon, Va., to Noodles & Co.

    The 3,167-sq.-ft. store is slated to open this summer, and brings the center to 98% leased.

    The 308,000-sq.-ft. shopping center is anchored by Shoppers Food Warehouse, Staples and Gold’s Gym, and also includes Starbucks, Chuck E. Cheese, Subway, GNC, State Farm and The UPS Store.

  • Tutti Frutti Yogurt leases restaurant space at Regency Centers' Legacy Center

    Frisco, Texas -- Jacksonville, Fla.-based Regency Centers said it has leased restaurant space to Tutti Frutti Yogurt, which will open a 1,412-sq.-ft. store at Legacy Center, in Frisco, Texas.

    The specialty frozen yogurt retailer is slated to open its new store in July.
    The 119,500-sq.-ft. shopping center includes national retailers such as Starbucks, Subway, Great Clips and The UPS Store.

  • Retailers celebrate Earth Day

    New York City -- Retailers across the nation issued updates on their environmental initiatives in the days leading up to Earth Day, April 22. Starbucks Coffee Co. released its tenth annual "Global Responsibility Report," noting it has reduced water use, increased its renewable energy purchases and is testing a new energy management story (see story here).

  • Starbucks up green energy, cuts water use, pilots new EMS

    Seattle -- Starbucks Coffee Co. met its 2010 goal of purchasing renewable energy equivalent to half of the electricity used in its North American company-owned stores, the company reported in its tenth annual "Global Responsibility Report." The report details Starbucks’  fiscal 2010 performance in environmental stewardship, ethical sourcing and community involvement.

  • Chipotle Mexican Grill to open at Woodmoor Shopping Center

    Silver Spring, Md. -- Jacksonville, Fla.-based Regency Centers said it has leased 1,990 sq. ft. of restaurant space in Silver Spring, Md., at Woodmoor Shopping Center to Chipotle Mexican Grill.

    The restaurant is slated to open this summer.

    The 67,403-sq.-ft. shopping center includes national retailers such as CVS/pharmacy, Starbucks, The UPS Store and Tuesday Morning.
