  • StepStone awarded management contract for The Shops at La Jolla

    San Diego -- StepStone Real Estate Services said it has been awarded the property management contract for The Shops at La Jolla Village, located in La Jolla, Calif.

    The 100% leased center is the dominant community retail center in the La Jolla/University Town Center market. The 165,597-sq.-ft. center features more than 40 stores, restaurants and services, including Whole Foods Market, Landmark Theatres, CVS Pharmacy, Aaron Brothers, B.J. Pizza & Brewery, Peet’s Coffee & Tea and Verizon Wireless.

     

  • KeyPoint Partners to manage, lease Woburn Mall

    Burlington, Mass. -- KeyPoint Partners announced it has been awarded the property management and retail leasing contract for the Woburn Mall in Woburn, Mass.

    Real estate equity fund Multi-Employer Property Trust acquired the 276,200-sq.-ft. mall in September 2012. Tenants include TJ Maxx, HomeGoods, Sports Authority, DSW and CVS Pharmacy.

     

  • Vestar and UBS Global Asset Management acquire Riverside Plaza

    Riverside, Calif. -- Vestar, in a joint venture with a fund advised by UBS Global Asset Management, announced that it has acquired Riverside Plaza, a 475,211-sq.-ft. retail center located on 35 acres in Riverside, Calif., for $84,844,000 in an all cash transaction. The acquisition marks one of the largest investment sales transactions in Southern California's Inland Empire region in the past 10 years. Vestar currently manages more than 22 million sq. ft. of retail properties in the West.

  • HomeGoods to anchor Edgewater Harbor

    Edgewater, N.J. -- North Plainfield, N.J.-based Levin Management Corp. announced that HomeGoods, a TJX Cos. banner, will anchor the 100,000-sq.-ft. retail component of Edgewater Harbor, a mixed-use waterfront redevelopment in Edgewater, N.J.

    HomeGoods has leased 24,000 sq. ft. and will join newly opened CVS Pharmacy, Moe's Southwest Grill, AT&T, Beach Bum Tanning, Epique Massage and Edgewater Dry Cleaners.

  • Nash Finch names chair of charitable division

    MINNEAPOLIS — Food distribution company Nash Finch has named Gary Spinazze as chair of the NFC Foundation for a two-year term. The NFC Foundation is the charitable giving arm of Nash Finch. Board member Paula Docken, business analyst, chair of the community outreach committee was named as chair elect.

  • Nash Finch to buy Nebraska grocery chain Bag ‘N Save

    Omaha, Neb. -- Nash Finch Co. announced Monday that it will acquire Omaha, Neb., supermarket chain Bag ‘N Save, which will grow its retail grocery store portfolio by about 25%.

    Primarily a food wholesaler, Nash Finch will absorb 11 stores in Omaha and one on York, Neb., through the acquisition. Terms have not been disclosed.

     

  • Passion Fin to open at Shops at Sumner Place

    Bethesda, Md. -- Streetsense announced it is bringing a new Japanese sushi restaurant, Passion Fin, to The Shops at Sumner Place, in Bethesda, Md. The 2,959-sq.-ft. restaurant is scheduled to open in early 2012.

    The Shops at Sumner Place is a Safeway-anchored retail center adjacent to the 28-acre Sumner Village condominium community. Other stores within the center include CVS Pharmacy, Starbucks, Bethesda Market, Praline French Bakery and Restaurant, Chico’s, a fitness center, and a variety of other stores and services.

  • Dollar General accepting MasterCard credit cards

    Purchase, N.Y. -- Dollar General is now accepting MasterCard credit cards at all of the nearly 10,000 Dollar General locations across the country, expanding on previous acceptance of MasterCard debit and prepaid cards. 

    “Dollar General was the first among small-box value discounters to roll out readers for electronic benefits cards and bank debit and credit cards, making transactions even more convenient for customers.
