  • Falling gas prices no Grinch this Christmas

    A prolonged drop in gas prices is boosting hopes among retailers that consumers will spend more this holiday season.

    According to the latest Consumer Fuels Survey by the National Association of Convenience Stores (NACS), more than one in four (26%) consumers expect to increase their spending this month, a seven-point jump over the past month and the highest percentage this year. Last November, only 21% of consumers expected to increase their spending, according to the survey.

  • $800 million mixed-use transformation of Miami suburb underway

    Miami – The Related Group is set to transform the Miami suburb of Doral with the massive 600,000 sq. ft. CityPlace Doral. The $800 million mixed-use development components include 240,000 sq. ft. commercial space, 1,000 luxury residential units and Boutique Boulevard -- more than 40 shopping, entertainment and dining venues. Once complete, the project will offer the area’s only walkable luxury shopping plaza.

  • True Value adds partner in Puerto Rico

    Chicago - True Value Co. has added National Lumber and Hardware, a 50-plus-store chain in Puerto Rico, as the newest purchasing partner of the cooperative. The growth of True Value’s international presence is a key initiative as the company focuses on its long-term strategic plan.

    “We’re excited to enter into this new relationship with National as this marks an important expansion of the Puerto Rican market for True Value,” said Lars Hybel, VP of International, True Value Co.
     

  • Bob Evans CEO resigns

    New Albany, Ohio – Steve Davis has resigned as CEO of Bob Evans Farms Inc. by mutual agreement with the board of directors. The official change will take place immediately, but Davis will remain with the company through the end of the year to assist with the transition process.
