Bob Evans CEO resigns

12/15/2014

New Albany, Ohio – Steve Davis has resigned as CEO of Bob Evans Farms Inc. by mutual agreement with the board of directors. The official change will take place immediately, but Davis will remain with the company through the end of the year to assist with the transition process.

Bob Evans has established an interim Office of the Chief Executive while a search is conducted for a new CEO. The office is to be filled by Mark Hood, CFO, and Mike Townsley, president of the Bob Evans Foods business unit. Both will remain in their current positions. The board has also formed a Transition Committee, consisting of independent directors Mary Kay Haben, Doug Benham, and Larry McWilliams, with Haben serving as the chair of the committee.

“The independent directors unanimously concluded that as the company strives to improve performance, it would benefit from new leadership and enhanced execution,” Haben said.

During the third quarter of fiscal 2014, Bob Evans reported net sales and same-store sales that were beneath Wall Street expectations, and also reported a slight decline in profits.
