  • New York & Company returns to profit in Q4

    NEW YORK — New York & Company reported that net sales for the fourth quarter were $291.8 million, as compared with $271.8 million in the year-ago period. 

    Comparable-store sales increased 2.3% compared with a decrease of 6.3% in the prior year fourth quarter.

    Net income increased to $10.5 million, or 17 cents per diluted share. This compares with a net loss in the prior year fourth quarter of $10.9 million, or 18 cents per diluted share.

    New York -- New York & Company reported net income for the fourth quarter of $10.5 million, compared with a net loss in the prior year fourth quarter of $10.9 million.

    Net sales for the quarter were $291.8 million, up from $271.8 million in the year-ago period. Same-store sales increased 2.3%.

  • Capital City Mall opens first DSW in Harrisburg, Pa., area

    Camp Hill, Pa. -- Philadelphia-based Pennsylvania Real Estate Investment Trust announced that DSW has opened a 17,500-sq.-ft. store at PREIT’s Capital City Mall property, located in Camp Hill, Pa.

    The mall completed the space for DSW — the retailer’s first in the area — by building on an additional 5,000 sq. ft.

  • NY & Co creates capsule collection with Eva Mendes

    NEW YORK — New York & Company and actress Eva Mendes announced that they have signed a multi-year agreement to collaborate and create a co-branded seasonal capsule collection available at New York & Company (NY&C) stores nationwide and online beginning fall '13. Additional terms of the deal were not disclosed. The to-be-named label will feature apparel and accessory items inspired by Mendes' own personal style and red carpet looks.

  • TLC style expert to host NYC & Co.'s Fashion's Night Out

    NEW YORK — Stacy London, host of TLC's "What Not To Wear," will serve has host during New York & Company's Fashion's Night Out event on Sept. 6.

    The retailer's participation in the event will include an in-store DJ at its 58th & Lexington Store, who will spin music while London and her team help style customers.

  • New York & Company names new COO

    NEW YORK — New York & Company, a specialty apparel chain with 541 retail stores in operation as of May 17, has named Laura Weil as EVP, COO, effective immediately. Weil, an executive consultant of New York & Company since Feb. 1, will continue to report to Greg Scott, CEO, and lead the company’s planning and allocation, sourcing, product life management, real estate, and information technology areas.

  • New York & Co. names COO

    New York -- New York & Co. has named former Ann Taylor executive Laura Weil as its new COO.

    Weil, who has served as a consultant at the company since February, was Ann Taylor COO from 2008 to 2011.
     

  • Cinnabon opens at Moorestown Mall

    Moorestown, N.J. -- Philadelphia-based Pennsylvania Real Estate Investment Trust said that Cinnabon has opened a 210-sq.-ft. kiosk at Moorestown Mall, located in Moorestown, N.J.

    Cinnabon opened at Moorestown Mall on the heels of Books for Less, while Play N Trade and Nailery are set to open at the mall this summer.
