    It’s the pizza chain on the rise in the U.S. and in Houston, too, apparently.   MOD Pizza will open 11 new locations in H-town this year, bringing its total in the metro to 15, according to Transwestern, which served as the leasing agent. The fast-casual chain is well on its way to 200 locations, with for 50 new shops in 2016.   MOD Pizza’s $65 million in sales represented a 21% increase in 2015, making it the fastest-growing new food chain in the U.S., according to Nation’s Restaurant News.
  • PetSmart takes in-store music to a whole new level

    In-store background music isn’t just for the enjoyment of customers and associates anymore.   PetSmart has selected Mood Media to take the audio experience to a whole new level with customized music designed to appeal not only to shoppers but also their four-legged friends.  
  • Billabong appeals to the senses

    Billabong is deploying an in-store sound and scent strategy to offer customers a more immersive experience.

    The board sports apparel retailer tapped Mood Media to create a custom sound and scent strategy for select Billabong stores in France and Spain. Billabong wanted to reflect the “board culture” and values of the brand — youth, dynamism and fun.

    Mood renews the strategy every two months to ensure it is kept original and that Billabong’s customers have a unique experience on each visit to its stores.

  • Sam's Club SCOREs a partnership to benefit small businesses

    Sam's Club is teaming up with a national nonprofit dedicated to mentoring small business owners to launch the 2016 American Small Business Championship.

    The SCORE competition is open to small business owners and entrepreneurs from coast to coast with one winner receiving a $25,000 grand prize.

  • New retail coming to the Streets of St. Charles

    St. Charles, Mo. -- Cullinan Properties welcomes two new tenants to its mixed-use development Streets of St. Charles located in St. Charles, Missouri. MOD, a boutique specializing in affordable fashion for women of all age, will open its fourth location in spring 2016 on Beale Street and Supercuts is expected to open in early 2016.

  • Transwestern represents Mod Pizza

    Houston - Transwestern represented Mod Pizza in five leases totaling approximately 13,662 sq. ft. in the Houston market. Grant Walker, VP, and Chris Reyes, broker associate, who serve as exclusive advisors for Mod Pizza in the Houston market, represented the retailer in the transactions.

    Mod will be operating more than 100 stores across the U.S. by the end of 2015 and has plans to open more than 30 additional locations in Houston within the next four to five years.

  • Mood Media to retire Muzak brand name

    Toronto -- Mood Media announced that it is consolidating its portfolio companies — Muzak, DMX and Mood Media — into a single global brand under the Mood banner. Mood acquired Muzak, which was founded in 1934, in 2011.  

    “It’s the end of an iconic American brand,” said Lorne Abony, chairman and CEO Mood Media, in a New York Times report.
