  • Study: Academy Sports + Outdoors has highest customer satisfaction rate and higher repurchase intent

  • Soaring profits give Hibbett confidence to grow

    BIRMINGHAM, Ala. — Hibbett Sports Inc. saw its profit for the quarter ended Jan. 28 jump 27% to $15.8 million, compared with $12.5 million in the year-ago period.

     Revenue increased 10% to $190.7 million from $173.2 million, missing Wall Street’s expected $192.2 million in revenue. Same-store sales rose 7.2%.

    For the full year, Hibbett reported net income of $59.1 million, up from $46.4 million last year. Revenue rose to $732.6 million, from $665 million.

  • Hibbett Sports profit leaps 27% in Q4, to open 40 net new stores

    Birmingham, Ala. -- Hibbett Sports Inc. reported Friday that profit for the quarter ended Jan. 28 jumped 27% to $15.8 million, compared with $12.5 million in the year-ago period.

  • Hibbett Sports launches e-commerce site via Dreams partnership

    Plantation, Fla. -- Multichannel retailer Dreams, which focuses on the licensed sports products industry, said Wednesday that it has partnered with Hibbett Sports to become its exclusive online provider for team merchandise in the licensed sports category.

    Hibbett’s new online platform is stadiumshop.hibbett.com and represents the bricks-and-mortar sporting goods retailer’s first entrance into e-commerce.

  • Hibbett Sports CFO to retire

    Birmingham, Ala. -- Hibbett Sports announced that Gary A. Smith, senior VP and CFO is retiring effective June 1, 2012. The company has started a search for his replacement.

    Smith joined Hibbett in April 2001 as VP and CFO when the company had 282 stores in 19 states, predominantly in the Southeast. Today, Hibbett has over 800 stores in 26 states.
     

  • Sleep Outfitters to open at Red Bank Commons

    Indianapolis -- Kite Realty Group said that Sleep Outfitters has leased 4,000 sq. ft. at Red Bank Commons, located in Evansville, Ind.

    Sleep Outfitters joins Fashion Bug and Hibbett Sports in the 34,258-sq.-ft. shopping center.

  • Hibbett Sports Q3 profit up 27%

    Birmingham, Ala. -- Hibbett Sports Inc. said that its third-quarter profit jumped 27%, amid strong demand for shoes and apparel. The results beat Wall Street expectations and Hibbett raised its earnings forecast for the full year.

    For the quarter ended Oct. 29, the sporting-goods chain reported net income of $16 million, up from $12.6 million in the year ago period. Sales increased 11% to $185.2. Same-store sales rose 7%.
