  • Dunkin’ Donuts to enter Southern California; signs agreements for 45 locations

    Canton, Mass. -- Dunkin’ Donuts announced  that it has signed its first Southern California multi-unit store development agreements,  with four franchise groups for a total commitment of 45 locations. 

    The first restaurants are expected to open in 2015 in Orange and Los Angeles counties. Some non-traditional Dunkin' Donuts locations may open over the next several months. 

  • Dunkin’ Donuts opens 500th NYC restaurant

    New York -- The largest national retailer in New York City by store count, Dunkin’ Donuts has just inched further ahead with the opening of its 500th city location, a co-branded restaurant with Baskin-Robbins.

    Located in Times Square, the restaurant features new Dunkin’ Donuts’ and Baskin-Robbins’ design concepts such as digital menu displays, updated furniture and lighting, electrical outlets, bar top areas for smartphones and computers and free Wi-Fi Internet access.

  • 7-Eleven brews 'Awesummer' promotion to offset rivals

    DALLAS — 7-Eleven is looking to leverage social media this summer with a limited duration offer designed to generate traffic at the retailer’s more than 10,000 worldwide locations.

    The announcement comes on the heels of Dunkin’ Donuts’ decision to focus more on its beverages and Starbucks’ announcement that it would be raising prices on select beverages. 

  • Dunkin Donuts switching focus to beverages

    Canton, Mass.  -- As part of a brand overhaul, Dunkin’ Donuts is switching its focus from doughnuts and baked goods to coffee and other beverages. At this week’s annual consumer conference hosted by investment banking firm Jeffries, Paul Carbone, CFO of parent company Dunkin’ Brands Group, said beverages accounted for 58% of sales at U.S. franchise locations last year.

    “We are a beverage company,” Carbone said. “Fred the Baker is not coming back.”

  • Dunkin’ Donuts details new store design

    Canton, Mass. -- Dunkin’ Donuts provided highlights of its new store design, the brand's first in nearly seven years. The new layout and contemporary look maintains the brand's focus on helping people get in and get on their way, while incorporating new features to create a warm environment for guests who seek a longer, more relaxed visit.  Inviting seating areas include updated furniture and lighting, as well as convenient electrical outlets and bar top areas for smartphones and computers.

  • Dunkin’ Donuts in major store revamp

    Canton, Mass. -- Dunkin’ Brands Group is giving its Dunkin’ Donuts stores a big makeover. The chain has been rolling out a “café-style” store redesign that includes a new, earth-toned palette, to make its locations resemble those of rival Starbucks, according to Bloomberg.

    Dunkin’ Donuts, which plans to double its current store total to 15,000, is adding features such as more comfortable seating and music to increase its afternoon customer traffic.

  • Dunkin’ Brands shuffles board

    Canton, Mass. – Dunkin’ Brands Group Inc., parent company of Dunkin’ Donuts and Baskin Robbins, has named current CEO Nigel Travis, 63, as chairman of the board of directors. Board member Raul Alvarez, 57, has been appointed lead independent director of the board. These changes come as Jon Luther, 69, prepares to retire as director and chairman of the board effective May 15.

  • Survey: Subway, Google and Target tops in ‘social currency’

    New York -- Subway, Google, and Target, took the top three spots in “Social Currency Impact Study 2013” from global consulting firm Vivaldi Partners.
