  • Chestnut Hill Shopping Center renamed ‘The Street’

    Chestnut Hill, Mass. - To better reflect its transformation into a walkable retail destination that seeks to be the new downtown in the heart of Chestnut Hill, Mass., the Chestnut Hill Shopping Center has been renamed "The Street," owner/manager WS Development announced today.

    With nearly ½ mile of frontage along Route 9, The Street was one of New England's first shopping centers when it opened in 1950. The Street's redevelopment continues to place it at the forefront of retail destinations both locally and beyond.

  • Whole Foods opens at Highland Village

    Jackson, Miss. -- WS Development announced that Whole Foods Market broke ground in early November on a new 31,000-sq.-ft. store at Highland Village in Jackson, Miss., marking the grocer’s debut in the state.

    The new store will open in 2013, joining about 50 shops and restaurants at the 220,000-sq.-ft. mixed-use center, such as Mason Weiss, Talbots, Whitehead Street Clothiers, and Albriton's Jewelers.

     

  • BFC Partners to build outlet retail/hotel complex on Staten Island

    New York -- BFC Partners, a New York real estate development company, announced plans to develop a new retail complex and hotel, with the working name of Harbor Commons, on a site adjacent to the Richmond County Bank Ballpark in St. George, Staten Island, N.Y.
     
    Harbor Commons will be an approximately 350,000-sq.-ft. retail complex along with a 120,000-sq.-ft. hotel, totaling 470,000 sq. ft. The retail complex will be comprised of approximately 100 designer outlets along with a variety of restaurants and cafes.
     

  • WS Capital completes acquisition of Hilldale Shopping Center

    Chestnut Hill, Mass. -- WS Capital Partners, the institutional investment arm of WS Development, announced that it has completed the acquisition of Hilldale Shopping Center, a 474,000-sq.-ft. retail center located in Madison, Wis.

    Anchored by Macy’s, Metcalfe’s Market, Sundance Cinemas and Target, Hilldale Shopping Center serves the entire Madison metropolitan area, including the nearby University of Wisconsin-Madison.

  • Lululemon to join Chestnut Hill

    Chestnut Hill, Mass. -- WS Development announced that Lululemon Athletica has signed a lease to join the Chestnut Hill Shopping Center, in Chestnut Hill, Mass.

    The 3,100-sq.-ft. lululemon joins other new signings at the 406,000-sq.-ft. center, including Pottery Barn, The Sports Club/LA, Cinema de Lux, Polarn O. Pyret, Shake Shack, Pinkberry, Treat Cupcake Bar, and gourmet Asian restaurant Bernard’s.
     

  • Pottery Barn among new tenants at Chestnut Hill Shopping Center

    Chestnut Hill, Mass. -- WS Development said that Pottery Barn, along with Swedish children’s apparel retailer Polarn O. Pyret and locally based Treat Cupcake Bar, will open at its Chestnut Hill Shopping Center.

    The new stores are scheduled to open in spring 2013 in a new building at the site of the former Macy’s.
     
    Other new stores to open in the 406,000-sq.-ft. shopping and dining destination include The Sports Club/LA, Cinema de Lux, Shake Shack, Pinkberry, and gourmet Asian restaurant Bernard’s.

  • Chestnut Hill Shopping Center, Chestnut Hill, Mass.

    National Amusements said it will open a six-screen Cinema de Lux at the Chestnut Hill Shopping Center in March 2013.

    The new theater is designed to deliver a high-luxury experience with a full-service restaurant, premium reserved seating and at-your-seat dining.

    “We’re looking forward to bringing an unparalleled movie going and dining experience to Chestnut Hill,” said Shari Redstone, president of National Amusements.

  • Saks Off Fifth to anchor two new outlet centers

    Indianapolis -- Mall owner Simon Property Group said Tuesday that Saks Fifth Avenue Off 5th will anchor the company’s two new centers in development in its Premium Outlets division: Phoenix Premium Outlets and St. Louis Premium Outlets.

    Phoenix Premium Outlets in Chandler, Ariz., is currently under construction with a spring 2013 opening planned. Phase 1 of the center will be comprised of 360,000 sq. ft. housing approximately 90 outlet stores featuring high-quality designer and name brands.
