Claire’s ramping up its presence in grocery stores

Claire’s is expanding its in-store partnerships.

Claire’s Holdings continues to expand via partnerships with other retailers.

The young women’s fashion accessories retailer has more than 10 grocery partners, including Albertsons, Kroger, Giant Eagle, Food City, Winco, Smart and Final, Schnucks, giving it a presence in more than 2,200 grocery stores.

Claire’s will add two additional partners this spring and expand to 230 more grocery store locations in the next three months. To fit each grocery partner’s needs, Claire’s creates custom programs to serve the unique space available within each store location.

The stores showcase the best of Claire’s on-trend hair accessories, jewelry, cosmetics and other items through colorful displays which embody the brand’s values of self-expression and fun, the company said.

Claire’s said it has found success driving weekly sales across both smaller displays at checkout and through a larger brand presence in-aisle, with seasonal items such as festive products for holidays and celebrations, remaining a standout category.

“Our successful consumer products partnership business has seen significant global growth, and our grocery partners are a key part of helping us harness the power of our brand,” said Ryan Vero, CEO of Claire’s. “Together we are bringing our trendsetting assortment to consumers through a seamless shopping experience in touchpoints where they are frequently spending their time.”

In addition to grocery store retailers, Claire’s has a presence in other retailers, including CVS, DSW, Walmart and more.

In September, Claire’s announced it was expanding its partnership with Walmart to more than 1,200 additional stores.  Claire's products are now available in more than 2,500 Walmart stores and in more than 360 Claire's store-in-stores at Walmart locations, as well as the discounter’s website. The brand was recognized in 2021  as Walmart's top vendor for jewelry and accessories.

In November, Claire’s announced plans to team  up with Macy’s to open shop-in-store locations in more than 20 Macy’s locations nationwide.

As of December, there are currently more than 2,750 Claire’s owned and operated and franchise stores open across North America and Europe, along with 260 Icing doors.

In light of its expanding partnerships with grocery retailers, Claire’s will appear for the first time at the 2023 NGA Show, Feb. 26-28 in Las Vegas, to display its most popular offerings. Also during the show, Claire’s senior VP of global business development Bill Zeuch, will give a presentation on Feb. 28 at 9:45 a.m. PT on ways that the company can work successfully with grocers.
