Chinese coffee giant Luckin continues aggressive NYC expansion
A fast-growing Beijing-based coffee chain is once again expanding its digitally-driven experience in the Big Apple.
Luckin Coffee opened the doors to its newest store in New York City’s SoHo neighborhood, a location populated by local residents, professionals students and tourists. Called a digitally-driven, elevated coffee experience, the store features seamless mobile ordering, premium beverages crafted with award-winning coffee beans, and a menu that blends quality and globally-inspired flavors.
Luckin’s mobile-based concept invites customers to use their app to order ahead for pickup and access exclusive offers and promotions. Shoppers can choose from the coffee company’s signature lineup of espresso beverages, fruit-forward refreshers, teas and seasonal specialty drinks, including current fan-favorites: the Coconut Latte, Velvet Latte, and Matcha Latte.
Luckin’s "100% cashier-less environment enhances our customer experience, improves our operating efficiency, and allows us to stay connected with our customers and engage with them anytime, anywhere,” according to its website.
Luckin’s newest location brings its New York City portfolio to 22 stores. The company opened its first two stores in June 2025 in the Big Apple’s Greenwich Village and Chelsea neighborhoods, respectively. These openings also represented the company’s debut in the United States.
It announced its arrival on U.S. soil through an Instagram post on June 24, 2025, revealing: Drip level: International. The rumors are true, NYC. You’re luckin now. #LuckInNYC #coffeetime #nyceats
Luckin, which launched in 2017, operates more than 36,000 global locations. It also reported revenue of $2.33 million for the second quarter (ended June 30) — a 28.5% increase compared to the same quarter last year, according to the company’s second quarter results.
