C-Suite Moves: March update

Here are the major C-suite changes that occurred in March, in the order they were announced. (All changes have already taken effect unless otherwise noted.) 

Capri Holdings Limited, parent company of Michael Kors and Jimmy Choo, has appointed Corey Moran as chief marketing officer. Moran spent the last decade at Google, serving as head of industry, luxury and fashion for more than eight years of that period.

Sarah Sylvester joined Land’s End as chief marketing officer, filling a position that has been vacant for 10 years. Sylvester is a Victoria’s Secret veteran, having worked for the retailer for nearly 20 years.

Heritage Grocers Group, parent company of Hispanic-focused grocery chains, named David Hinojosa as its next CEO. He joins Heritage from Vallarta Supermarkets, where he spent almost three years as chief operating officer.

Erin Nealy Cox was named executive VP of global governance and chief legal officer, and corporate secretary at Walmart Inc., effective April 13. Cox joins Walmart from Kirkland & Ellis LLP, where she has served as a partner in the Government, Regulatory & Internal Investigations Practice Group since 2021. She previously served as the United States Attorney for the Northern District of Texas from 1999 to 2008.

Vera Bradley named Ian Bickley as chairman and CEO. For the past eight months, he has served as executive chairman of the women's handbags and accessories company, a role that was created following the departure of CEO Jacqueline Ardrey in July.

Build-A-Bear Workshop named COO and experience officer Chris Hurt to succeed longtime president and CEO Sharon Price John who will will retire, effective June 11. Price John, who has served as CEO of Build-A-Bear since 2013 following the retirement of founder Maxine Clark will remain on the board and help to ensure a smooth transition.

REI Co-op named retail veteran as Kim Waldmann as chief commercial officer. She joins REI from Foot Locker, where she served as global chief customer officer. Prior to joining Foot Locker in 2023, Waldmann was chief marketing and digital officer at Gap Inc.’s Athleta division.

Brad Brookshire, chairman and CEO of Brookshire Grocery Company, retired as chief executive has served the company for 49 years, including 20 years as chairman of the board and 10 years as CEO. He is the grandson of company founder W.T. Brookshire. Jerry LeClair will assume the role of interim CEO. LeClair joined Brookshire as executive VP, chief merchant officer in 2019

Claire’s tapped Jillian Cueff as its chief merchandising officer. She most recently spent more than five years at Walmart in a variety of roles, including VP of merchandising positions for the jewelry & accessories and men’s categories. Prior to joining Walmart in 2020, Cueff spent more than 10 years at Macy’s.

Williams-Sonoma Inc. named Abby Teisch as chief marketing officer. A 20-year veteran of the retailer, Teisch will lead enterprise-wide marketing strategies across the company’s portfolio of brands.
