  • RadioShack opens Manhattan concept store

    Fort Worth, Texas -- RadioShack has opened its latest Manhattan concept store. The newly remodeled store is one of more than a dozen concept stores to open in Manhattan since RadioShack debuted the company's first concept store in July 2013.

  • AT&T to sponsor rooftop deck at Cardinals Nation

    Baltimore — The Cordish Cos. and the St. Louis Cardinals have announced that AT&T has joined Ballpark Village in St. Louis as the naming rights sponsor for the two-story seating deck atop Cardinals Nation. As part of a multi-year agreement, the Cardinals Nation ticketed deck will be known as the AT&T Rooftop.

  • CBRE sells Westover Marketplace in San Antonio

    Los AngelesCBRE’s nation retail investment group has announced the sale of San Antonio’s Westover Marketplace Shopping Center on behalf of Coventry Real Estate Advisors. Inland American purchased the 242,664-sq.-ft. property for an undisclosed price.

    The Class A regional power center resides inside the Westover Hills master-planned development. It is 93.4% occupied.

  • Power centers’ role in the omnichannel model

    As the retail industry begins to offer shoppers the omnichannel experience they demand, brick-and-mortar stores have never been more important.

    This is especially true as it relates to power centers, broadly defined as open-air shopping centers that feature multiple national anchors such as discount department stores, off-price stores, warehouse clubs and other retailers that tend to offer a wide selection in a particular merchandise category at value prices.

  • Walgreens opens on New Orleans Westbank

    Covington, La. Stirling Properties has announced the opening of a full-service Walgreens in Terrytown on the Westbank of New Orleans. The new drugstore stands on the site of a former shopping center anchored by an A&P Grocery store and an Eckerd Drug store.

    RH (formerly called Restoration Hardware) continues its transformation from a hardware retailer to a lifestyle brand at its stunning Gallery store in Boston. The 37,670-sq.-ft. space, which took top honors in the 2014. A.R.E. Design Awards competition, is located in a landmark building in the heart of the city’s Back Bay.

    Destination XL Group plans to open its first store in Manhattan this June and promises the city’s big and tall men an upscale experience at its store on 699 Sixth Avenue.

  • Golden Gate buys 9.5% stake in Ann Inc.

    San Francisco – Private equity firm Golden Gate Capital Corp. disclosed in a regulatory filing that it has purchased a 9.5% ownership stake in Ann Inc., parent of Ann Taylor.  

    In a letter to the Ann Inc. board of directors, Golden Gate said it looks forward to working collaboratively with Ann Inc. The company said that it did not plan to seek changes to the retailer’s board or executive team, or to push for a sale
