  • 7-Eleven to open on Upper East Side

    New York -- Winick Realty Group said that 7-Eleven has continued its plans for expansion in the New York market by leasing a new 2,300-sq.-ft. storefront at 1235 Second Avenue, on the corner of East 65th Street.

  • Publix opening completes Boynton Lakes Plaza redevelopment

    Boynton Beach, Fla. -- Jacksonville, Fla.-based shopping center owner Regency Centers said it has completed the redevelopment of Boynton Lakes Plaza, a 117,124-sq.-ft. neighborhood center in Boynton Beach, Fla., which included the addition of a 45,000-sq.-ft. Publix.

    The new grocery anchor relocated from an undersized store in a nearby center and is slated to open on June 9.

  • Neiman Marcus to equip associates with smartphones

    New York -- Neiman Marcus is equipping all of its 4,000 associates at its full-line stores with smartphones in an effort to better serve customers, company executives said on the retailer’s recent conference call with analysts.

    Neiman’s executives also said the company plans to remodel it stores on Michigan Avenue in Chicago, and in Bal Harbour Shops, Bal Harbour, Fla.
     

  • RKF Chicago office adds two new directors

    Chicago -- RKF announced that Steve Schwartz and Lara Keene have joined the firm’s Chicago office as directors.

    Schwartz and Keene, formerly of Baum Realty Group, mark the latest additions to the RKF Chicago office, which opened this past April as part of the firm’s ongoing expansion into key urban markets nationwide.
     
     

  • Cuhaci & Peterson selected to design four Aldi Supermarkets

    Orlando, Fla. -- Cuhaci & Peterson Architects said Wednesday it has been awarded a contract to design four Aldi Supermarkets in located in North and South Carolina and Florida.

    Each of the supermarket facilities will total 18,000 sq. ft. of retail space and are located in Salisbury and Indian Trails, N.C., in Columbia, S.C., and in southwest Orlando, Fla., near Disney World.

     

  • American F+B to open at West 7th project

    Fort Worth, Texas -- Cypress Equities said that Consilient Restaurants will open an American F+B restaurant at West 7th, the mixed-use project in Fort Worth, Texas.

    The 6,215-sq.-ft. restaurant is slated to open in early 2013 and will provide seating for approximately 200.

    West 7th offers retail, entertainment, office and residential in a 13-acre setting.
     

  • Report: M.A.C to open Fifth Avenue flagship

    New York -- M.A.C. Cosmetics will open a flagship on a prime stretch of New York City’s Fifth Avenue, according to various reports.

    The company will open up shop in November, on Fifth Avenue near 54th Street, in a space that formerly housed Elizabeth Arden's Red Door Spa, according to Racked.com.
     

  • Avenue Stores closing 96 stores as part of restructuring

    Rochell Park, N.J. -- Avenue Stores announced it has begun the process to close 96 stores over the next three months. The company previously announced plans to selectively close and consolidate stores in order to finalize a geographic footprint that maximizes profitability and sales growth potential.

    Upon completion of the closures, the company will continue to operate more than 300 stores in 34 states, and offer online shopping,
