  • Dick’s Sporting Goods to anchor Hadley Center

    South Plainfield, N.J. -- National Retail & Development Corp. announced Tuesday that Dick’s Sporting Goods will anchor Hadley Center in South Plainfield, N.J., joining current anchors Target, Kohl’s, Regal Cinemas and Marshalls.
     
    Dick’s will occupy 50,175 sq. ft. and plans to open in late summer 2013, which brings Hadley Center to 100% leased.

    The 542,000-sq.-ft. Hadley Center is located in a 1.4 million-sq.-ft. mixed-use development, home to more than 120 companies.

     

  • Social Apparel to open 34th Street location

    New York -- Winick Realty Group said that women’s formal wear brand Social Apparel, with locations in four New York malls, has leased its first freestanding location at 255 West 34th Street, located between Seventh and Eighth Avenues in Manhattan’s Garment District.

    The store includes 1,760 sq. ft. on the ground floor, 1,276 sq. ft. on the mezzanine and 1,540 sq. ft. in the basement.
     

  • Walmart to open second campus location

    New York -- Walmart will open a mini-store on the campus of Georgia Tech, according to a report by the Atlanta-Constitution.

    The 2,500-sq.-ft. convenience-store styled location, expected to open this spring, will be the retailer’s smallest unit in the country.

    The Georgia Tech store will be Walmart’s second campus location. In 2011, the retailer opened a store on the campus of the University of Arkansas.
     

  • Marco’s Pizza to open new restaurant in Denver

    Denver -- The Zall Co. said Wednesday that Marco’s Pizza will open a new restaurant in Denver, marking the ninth Colorado location for the chain.

    The latest unit will join Which Wich, Noodles & Co. and T-Mobile at a retail project located between Gaylord and York Street on E. Colfax.

     

  • Fresh Market to open at One Loudoun

    Ashburn, Va. -- Miller and Smith, along with JV partner North America Sekisui House, said Tuesday that The Fresh Market will open a new store at One Loudoun, in Loudoun County, Va.

    The 23,000-sq.-ft. specialty grocer will break ground in January 2013 and is slated to open fall 2013.  

     

  • CBL & Associates, Stirling to develop Fremaux Town Center

    Slidell, La. -- Chattanooga, Tenn.-based CBL & Associates Properties and Covington, La.-based Stirling Properties announced Wednesday the formation of a 65/35 joint venture to develop Fremaux Town Center in Slidell, La.  

  • Pearle Vision targeting Florida, Ohio and Michigan for growth

    Mason, Ohio -- Pearle Vision announced its 2013 U.S. expansion plans, which includes the re-licensing of 34 locations in 10 states.

    With more than 520 eye care centers in the United States, Pearle Vision is now seeking to grow its national footprint and has identified Florida, Ohio, and Michigan as the first markets for its aggressive re-licensing effort. Specifically in Florida, Pearle Vision is looking to convert locations in Miami, West Palm Beach, Naples, Jacksonville, and Orlando.

  • Walgreens to open on New Orleans Westbank

    Covington, La. -- Stirling Properties said Tuesday it plans to develop a full-service Walgreens drug store in Terrytown, La., on the Westbank of New Orleans.

    The proposed Walgreens, which will be a relocation of an existing nearby store, will be located on the site of a former A&P Grocery/Eckerd Drug-anchored shopping center.
