  • LUMAS Galleries to open second U.S. store

    New York -- Prudential Douglas Elliman's Retail Group said it has arranged a long-term lease for LUMAS Galleries at 1100 Madison Avenue, between 82nd and 83rd Streets.

    The German-based art dealer’s only current U.S. location is on West Broadway in SoHo.

    LUMAS Galleries is moving into the former City Market Café space, which is surrounded by neighboring businesses such as Jonathan Adler, Peter Elliot, Lululemon, Coach, Alexis Bittar, Theory and Tumi.

     

  • BJ’s Restaurant and Brewhouse to open at South Hill Mall

    Puyallup, Wash. -- Youngstown, Ohio-based Cafaro Co. announced that BJ’s Restaurant and Brewhouse will open a 9,200-sq.-ft. restaurant at South Hill Mall in Puyallup, Wash.

    The new tenant is scheduled to open February 11, 2013, located between Red Robin and Olive Garden restaurants.

     

  • Crazy 8 to open at Arizona Mills this fall

    Tempe, Ariz. -- Indianapolis-based Simon Property Group said that Arizona Mills will continue to expand its retail mix this October with the opening of Crazy 8.

    Crazy 8, a concept from The Gymboree Corp., will be located across from J.C. Penney. Other retail offerings include Last Call by Neiman Marcus, Saks Fifth Avenue Off 5th, H&M, Forever 21, Kenneth Cole Company Store, American Eagle Outfitters, G by Guess, 2b Bebe and more.

  • Dollar Tree opens at Boyertown Shopping Center

    Boyertown, Pa. -- Brixmor Property Group said that Dollar Tree has opened a 9,600-sq.-ft. store at Boyertown Shopping Center, located in Boyertown, Pa.

    Brixmor, based in New York City, is the owner of Boyertown Shopping Center.

     

  • Nordstrom announces expansion into Canada; appoints company veteran to lead new venture

    Seattle -- It’s official: Nordstrom is expanding into Canada. The department store chain on Thursday announced that it will open its first full-line stores in Canada, starting in fall 2014. It named veteran Nordstrom executive Karen McKibbin, most recently VP president and regional manager of Northern California and Hawaii, as president of Nordstrom Canada.

    Nordstrom said is partnering with commercial real estate company Cadillac Fairview Corporation Limited to lease four stores at shopping centers in Calgary, Ottawa, Toronto, and Vancouver.

  • Ann Taylor sets date for international debut with store in Toronto

    New York -- Ann Taylor on Oct. 5 will open its first store outside of the United States, in the Toronto Eaton Centre. The company will open a second store in Canada, located in Toronto’s Yorkdale Shopping Centre, in November.

  • LA Fitness to open first Rhode Island location at Garden City

    Cranston, R.I. -- Boston-based The Wilder Cos. said that LA Fitness will make its Rhode Island state debut at Garden City Center, located in Cranston.

    The 38,000-sq.-ft., two-level facility will be located next to Office Max; a former Borders will be demolished to make way for LA Fitness.

    Construction will begin in January 2013 with a late December 2013 or early 2014 opening set.

  • iFixandRepair to open at Willow Grove Park

    Willow Grove, Pa. -- Philadelphia-based Pennsylvania Real Estate Investment Trust said that iFixandRepair will join its Willow Grove Park, Pa., property this fall.

    The 1,077-sq.-ft. store joins other Willow Grove Park wireless electronics retailers such as AT&T, Best Buy Mobile, RadioShack, Sprint Nextel, T-Mobile and Verizon Wireless.
