  • Levin announces leasing activity at Capitol Plaza

    Ewing, N.J. -- North Plainfield, N.J.-based Levin Management Corp. said Wednesday that Dollar Tree will open a store at Capitol Plaza, located in Ewing, N.J. The 13,810-sq.-ft. store is slated to open in the spring.
     
    As well, a newly expanded Center for Allied Health & Nursing Education will celebrate its grand reopening at Capitol Plaza in March. The nursing school will be renamed Jersey College School of Nursing; it tripled its space to 30,000 sq. ft. in the shopping center, which is leased and managed by Levin.
     

  • Six new tenants to open at Pembroke Mall in 2013

    Virginia Beach, Va. -- Divaris Real Estate announced Wednesday that six new stores totaling 57,434 sq. ft. will open at the company’s Pembroke Mall property, located in Virginia Beach, Va.

  • Union claims Target Canada engaged in unfair hiring practices

    TORONTO, ONTARIO —  The Canadian arm of the United Food and Commercial Workers union has taken aim at Target for its alleged unfair treatment of former Zellers workers.

    The union claims that Target, which is converting 189 Zellers stores, is not giving former employees a fair shake in the hiring process and that many have been turned down for employment without reason.

  • Alexander McQueen to open on Madison Avenue

    New York -- SL Green Realty Corp. announced Wednesday that fashion retailer Alexander McQueen has signed a 15-year lease for a mid-block retail space at 747 Madison Avenue.   

    The tenant is expected to move into the space during third quarter 2013.
     
    The retail co-op interest at 747 Madison is owned by a joint venture that includes SL Green, Jeff Sutton and Harel Insurance Co.

     

  • Big Lots to open at Park Shore Shopping Center

    Naples, Fla. -- Brixmor Property Group said that Big Lots will open a new store at Park Shore Shopping Center, located in Naples, Fla.

    The 35,080-sq.-ft. store will open this year. Park Shore is owned and operated by Brixmor, based in New York City.

     

  • Chevy Chase Land Co. names exec

    Chevy Chase, Md. -- Chevy Chase Land Co. announced that Lucy Fraser has been named VP of asset management for the company.

    Fraser previously served as VP of property management for Combined Properties.

     

  • NAI MLG Commercial names VPs

    Milwaukee -- NAI MLG Commercial announced that Tim Janusz and Brett Garceau have been promoted to VP.

    Janusz specializes in office landlord and tenant representation, and Garceau specializes in the lease and sale of industrial properties.

     

  • Two Columbus Square anchor tenants announce expansion

    New York -- Winick Realty Group announced that two of Columbus Square’s anchor tenants — Whole Foods and Michael’s — are expanding their footprints at the mixed-use development located in the heart of the Upper West Side of Manhattan.

    “Both Whole Foods and Michael’s have seen such great success since opening at Columbus Square,” said Winick Realty director Kelly Gedinsky. “By expanding … they are now able to accommodate the high levels of foot traffic their location demands.”
