  • Sam’s Club moving to bigger location in Anchorage

    New York -- Sam's Club will host a grand opening celebration on Thursday, Sept. 5, at its new location in Anchorage. At 145,000 sq. ft., the new club will be more than 50% bigger than the former Anchorage location.

    The new club has been constructed to include many environmentally friendly features. Energy-efficient fixtures, including daylight-harvesting skylights, reduce the amount of energy required to light the club by up to 75% daily.

  • C. P. Hart launches new London showroom

    London — C.P. Hard will open the doors to its new showroom in the Chelsea area of London during this year’s London Design Festival, which takes place Sept. 14 to Sept. 22.

    The new retail space will provide architects, interior designers and consumers with a creative and informative working studio featuring products from C.P. Hart lines.

     

  • DSW inks deal at Shops at La Palmera in Corpus Christie

    Fort Worth, Texas -- Designer Shoe Warehouse — DSW — has announced plans for a new store at The Shops At La Palmera, a 200,000-sq.-ft. outdoor shopping center in Corpus Christie, Texas, according to Trademark Property Company.

    Construction has begun on the 18,000-square-foot DSW, which is located adjacent to Catherine’s. This is the first Corpus Christi location for DSW Inc., which is scheduled to open in early 2014.

  • GBT Realty adds to shopping center and net lease teams

    Brentwood — GBT Realty Corp. has added four new members to its team.

    Ivan Lozina, a 20-year industry veteran has been appointed senior construction manager. Lozina will oversee construction management for new developments in the Shopping Center Division. Prior to joining GBT, Lozina spent 17 years at Benderson Development Company, managing the construction of more than 20 million square feet of commercial real estate.

  • Dunkin’ Donuts opens on Kansas Turnpike

    Canton, Mass. -- Dunkin’ Donuts continues its growth in non-traditional locations with the opening of two locations on the Kansas Turnpike with franchisee Rosenfield Restaurants. A third is scheduled to debut in October.

    “Bringing Dunkin' Donuts to service plazas around the country is just one great example of how our brand is taking successful elements of our traditional locations and translating them into alternative points of distribution,” said Grant Benson, VP of franchising and business development, Dunkin' Brands.

  • Uniqlo announces locations for 10 new mall stores

    New York -- Uniqlo will open 10 U.S. mall stores in October and November, giving it a total of 17 U.S. locations. The new stores are strategically placed surrounding the brand’s current flagship stores on the East and West Coasts (see below for schedule).

    To support its retail expansion, Uniqlo will debut a new, more interactive website this fall.  

    Uniqlo will open four stores in California, three in New York, two in New Jersey and one in Connecticut. Here is the schedule:

  • DSW signs three leases from New York to Oklahoma

    Columbus — Designer Shoe Warehouse — DSW — has announced the opening of three new stores across the country.

    The locations are:

    • Colerain Ave. in Cincinnati, Ohio, opens Sept. 5
    • Veteran Parkway, Springfield, Ill., opens Sept. 5
    • Bowles Ave. in Littleton, Colo., opens Sept. 5
  • Mid-America’s Panovich honored for Lifetime Industry Leadership

    Chicago — C. Michelle Panovich, principal and executive VP, Mid-America Asset Management will receive the Lifetime Industry Leadership Award at the 12th annual Real Estate Gala hosted by the Marshall Bennett Institute of Real Estate at Roosevelt University. The event will take place on Nov. 7.

    Christopher G. Kennedy, chairman of Joseph P. Kennedy Enterprises, will keynote the event, which draws more than 400 attendees annually and benefits Roosevelt’s real estate program.
