  • First Martha Stewart Café opening in New York

    New York - Martha Stewart Living Omnimedia is opening its first Martha Stewart Cafe, in the Starrett-Lehigh building, home to Martha Stewart Living Omnimedia's corporate headquarters. The cafe will offer handcrafted espresso beverages and teas.

    The menu, personally curated by Martha Stewart, will serve hot beverages, cold-brew iced coffee, artisanal loose-leaf teas, and pastries. The cafe is partnering with Kobrick Coffee, a New York City-based and family-owned roaster, and Wei Bertram of Connecticut-based Arogya Tea,

  • Bonobos to open 4,000-sq.-ft. flagship in Manhattan

    New York -- Bonobos, the online-driven men’s clothing brand, keeps expanding its physical presence. The company announced plans to opens its largest location to date, in Manhattan’s Flatiron District. The 4,000-sq.-ft. “Guideshop (which is how Bonbos refers to its brick-and-mortar spaces) is slated to open in June. It will be the brand’s seventeenth location nationwide and fourth in New York City, following the expected openings of Guideshops in Newport Beach, California, and Brookfield Place, New York City, in March.

  • Under Armour opens digital center in Austin, Texas

    Baltimore - Under Armour has opened its first-ever digital headquarters, in downtown Austin, Texas. The 35,000-plus-sq.-ft. “Connected Fitness” center employs more than 100 engineers, data scientists, designers, and product innovators in digital health, fitness, and sports, and is expected to grow substantially by the end of the year. It is the sporting goods company’s facility solely dedicated to digital innovation.

  • REI opens at Mansell Crossing

    Alpharetta, Ga. --  Brixmor Property Group announced the opening of a 24,000-sq.-ft. REI at Mansell Crossing in Alpharetta, Georgia.  This is the fifth Atlanta-area location for the national outdoor retailer.

  • Fast-casual eatery Salata to open new headquarters, 20 stores

    Houston – Salata, a custom salad and salad wrap restaurant eatery, will open a 26,000-sq.-ft corporate complex in West Houston. Construction on the facility began in January and completion is estimated for summer 2015.

    The headquarters will house offices for the chain's corporate employees, a training restaurant for franchisees and managers and a production facility. It will also feature a 2,500-sq.-ft. restaurant open to the public during regular lunch hours, which will also serve as a test kitchen and training restaurant.

  • Sears Canada leases back three stores

    Toronto - Sears Canada Inc. has entered into a definitive agreement with Concord Pacific Group of Companies to sell and lease back three of its properties for $140 million. The after-tax proceeds, including adjustments, will be approximately $130 million.  

    The locations include store space and adjacent property located at the Metropolis at Metrotown in Burnaby, British Columbia, Cottonwood Mall in Chilliwack, British Columbia and North Hill Shopping Centre in Calgary, Alberta. The transaction is scheduled to close on or about June 8, 2015.

  • Old Navy to open at Bayshore Town Center

    Glendale, Wis. -- Olshan Properties announced that Old Navy will open a store at Bayshore Town Center, in Glendale, Wisconsin. Old Navy will occupy a 17,025-sq.-ft. space that formerly housed Applebee’s, which has relocated to a larger location within the center.
         

  • Ross Stores opening 90 stores in 2015

    Dublin, Calif. -- Ross Stores recently opened 32 Ross Dress for Less stores and five dd’s Discounts locations across 15 different states. The openings are part of the off-price retailer’s 2015 expansion plans to open a total of approximately 90 stores in 2015 (70 Ross and 20 dd’s Discounts).
