  • Five Below enters Texan market

    Five Below plans to open eight locations in and around Houston Friday, June 6, marking the specialty value retailer’s first foray into that city. The company already has 15 stores in the Dallas and Austin markets.

    The store openings are part of the company’s aggressive growth strategy. Last year, the Philadelphia-based retailer opened 60 new stores, and it plans to match that number this year. With the Houston openings, there will be 338 Five Below stores in 20 states throughout the country.

  • Wendy’s completes social film promotion

    Dublin, Ohio - The final installment of Wendy's first-ever digital short film, "L'Estrella de la Toscana" – The Star of Tuscany, featuring the new Tuscan Chicken on Ciabatta sandwich, premiered this week on Wendy's Facebook Page and YouTube channel. To promote the sandwich, Wendy's created a three-part video series that gives homage to dramatic Italian cinema of the 1960s.

    Throughout April and May, Wendy's asked consumers to be its screenwriters by submitting captions on social media to subtitle the Italian-dialogue video.  

  • Miller Lite takes campaign to Twitterverse

    Miller Lite will use festive photos from Twitter to generate content to be used in a television commercial this fall, according to a report from AdWeek.

    While the brand's "Show Us Your Miller Time" summer-themed campaign includes components from both Twitter and Facebook, it's focusing more on Twitter to reach a specific demographic — guys ages 22 years to 27 years old.

  • Sears launches promotional Web series

    Hoffman Estates, Ill. – Sears, Roebuck and Co. is launching a new promotional Web series starting reality TV stars Sean and Catherine Lowe and Sears celebrity designer Ty Pennington. Customers and Shop Your Way loyalty members will be asked to design the patio of the couple's new home via this Web series from Sears outdoor living.

  • X Games head to select H-E-B locations

    H-E-B and men's grooming brand Axe have partnered with the X Games to launch an innovative shopper marketing promotion that will reward consumers with an exclusive performance by X Games athletes at local H-E-B stores.

  • Budweiser goes red, white and blue ahead of Memorial Day

    Budweiser's limited-edition red, white and blue cans and bottles have started arriving on store shelves just in time for Memorial Day. The packaging also marks the brand's commitment to assisting military families: Budweiser and its wholesaler family will donate more than $3 million to the Folds of Honor Foundation.
