  • PepsiCo Europe CEO joins AutoZone board

    MEMPHIS, Tenn. — AutoZone has elected Enderson Guimaraes to its board of directors.

    Guimaraes is CEO of PepsiCo Europe, a role he assumed in September 2012, and is responsible for PepsiCo's food and beverage businesses in Continental Europe as well as the United Kingdom and sub-Sahara Africa. "

    Enderson's exceptional international operations experience will benefit AutoZone greatly. We are fortunate to have him as a new board member," said Bill Rhodes, chairman, president and CEO.

     

  • Hudson's Bay files prospectus for IPO

    New York -- Hudson's Bay Co. announced that it has filed a preliminary prospectus with securities regulators in Canada for a proposed initial public offering of common shares. The company, which has been owned by NRDC Equity Partners since 2008, operates U.S. department store chain Lord & Taylor, along with The Bay and Home Outfitters chains in Canada.

  • Dick's launches winter coat trade-in program

    PITTSBURGH — Dick's Sporting Goods has launched its first-ever winter coat trade-in event.

    From Oct. 21 through Oct. 27, customers can donate their gently-worn winter coats at their local Dick's store. Donated coats will then be distributed in the United States to those in need through a partnership with World Vision.

  • NRF survey details holiday spending plans

    Washington, D.C. -- Most consumers will take a conservative approach with their holiday gift-giving budgets, according to NRF’s holiday consumer spending survey conducted by BIGinsight. The average holiday shopper will spend $749.51 on gifts, décor, greeting cards and more, up slightly from the $740.57 they spent last year. NRF forecasts that holiday sales will increase 4.1% to $586.1 billion.

    Minneapolis -- Target Corp. and The Neiman Marcus Group will promote their upcoming joint holiday collection by serving as the sole sponsors of the mid-season finale of the hit ABC television show “Revenge.”

    In place of standard broadcast commercials, the retailers are working directly with the creative team of “Revenge” to create original content incorporating the Target and Neiman Marcus holiday collection. The show will air on Nov. 11.

  • Fashion designer donates $5 million to NYC charity

    NEW YORK — Fashion designer Michael Kors has donated $5 million to God's Love We Deliver (God's Love), the New York-based non-profit organization that cooks and delivers individually tailored meals daily to people living with severe illnesses throughout New York City, Newark and Hudson County. This gift serves as one of the largest single donations to a social services organization in New York history.
