  • Macy’s launches Pride + Joy campaign

    NEW YORK — In commemoration of National LGBTQ Pride month, Macy’s and its employees will participate in 23 Pride parades, hold in-store events nationwide celebrating diversity and offer special merchandise to help support the fight for LGBTQ equality.

  • Neiman Marcus has strong third quarter

    Dallas – Neiman Marcus had a strong third quarter fiscal 2013, reporting a substantial increase in net earnings as well as growth total revenues and same store sales.

    Net earnings grew 13% compared to third quarter of last year, from $62.6 million to $70.8 million from $62.6 million.

    Total revenues increased 4%, from $1.06 billion to $1.1 billion.

    Same store sales grew 3.6%.

     

  • Dick’s Sporting Goods opens Petaluma store

    Pittsburgh – Dick’s Sporting Goods is opening a new store in Petaluma, Calif., with a three-day grand opening weekend celebration beginning Friday, June 7. The location be the retailer's 28th store in the state of California and its 523rd nationwide.

  • Macy’s CEO named Father of the Year

    NEW YORK — Chairman, president and CEO of Macy’s Terry J. Lundgren will be one of three men honored at the 72nd annual Father of the Year awards luncheon to be held Tuesday, June 11, at the Grand Hyatt New York Hotel. 

    Lundgren will be in the company of President Bill Clinton, founder of the William J. Clinton Foundation and the nation’s 42nd Commander-in-Chief, and Major Jackson Drumgoole II, who served four tours in Iraq. 

  • Walmart annual shareholders meeting slated for June 7

    Bentonville, Ark. -- Wal-Mart Stores Inc. will hold its Annual Meeting of Shareholders on Friday, June 7, including an executive update by president and CEO Mike Duke.

    As many as 14,000 global Walmart associates are also attending the event, most arriving in time for elaborate pre-meeting activities. "Our success is only possible because of the hard work and dedication of our 2.2 million associates around the world,” said Susan Chambers, executive VP global people, at Walmart.
