  • Starbucks coming to Uniqlo’s Fifth Avenue flagship

    New York -- Uniqlo is remodeling the second floor of its Manhattan flagship on Fifth Avenue, and will reopen it on March 28 as the “SPRZ (Surprise) NY Store.” The renovated space will include the introduction of the “Starbucks Experience,” a full-service coffeehouse.

  • Oral-B unveils oral care app

    Oral-B has launched of an oral care app for children called the Disney Magic Timer App by Oral-B.

    Created in collaboration with Disney and powered by DreamPlay, the oral care app is designed to helps kids increase brushing time, which, according to the company, is identified by dentists as an area of concern and improvement for children.

  • Report: Indian prime minister candidate speaks in favor of big retail

    New Delhi, India – Narendra Modi, candidate of opposition party Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) for Indian prime minister, reportedly has made statements in favor of global online retailing and India’s small retailers learning to compete with large retailers. According to Reuters, at a meeting of the Confederation of All India Traders, Modi said small local retailers should improve the quality of their goods to a level closer to that of large global competitors, and also consider entering contracts with large online retailers to create virtual trade.

  • DSW opens new store in Connecticut

    Columbus, Ohio – DSW Shoe is opening a new store in West Hartford, Conn., on Thursday, Feb. 27. Customers will have access to the DSW Rewards loyalty program in which they can earn certificates toward future DSW purchases and receive special member-only offers.

    Customers can also participate in a Shoe Lover community on Facebook to receive exclusive offers and giveaways, including chances to win free shoes on Facebook each Tuesday.

  • NRF: Tax reform proposal would boost economy

    Washington, D.C. -- The National Retail Federation welcomed a proposal to reform the nation’s tax structure announced Wednesday by House Ways and Means Committee Chairman Dave Camp, R-Mich., saying it would strengthen the economy and jobs.

  • Survey: HVAC contractors unprepared for 2015 efficiency standards

    St. Louis -- A majority (74%) of U.S. contractors are unaware of upcoming 2015 regional standards for unitary air conditioning and heat pump systems, according to a survey by Emerson Climate Technologies Inc. Nearly 80% of contractors were unaware of 2015 part-load efficiency requirements for light commercial split, package and rooftop systems, and 84% are unaware of the 2015 chiller standards. Unlike the 2005 regulation changes, the 2015 changes will affect both residential and commercial efficiency standards.
