  • Domino’s offers college hoop-themed online deal

    Ann Arbor, Mich. - Domino's Pizza is offering 50% off all menu-priced pizza orders placed online for a week, beginning March 17 and running through March 23. The 50% off deal is only available on menu-priced pizzas ordered through Domino's digital ordering channels which include Domino's website, Domino's mobile website and the iPhone, Android, Windows Phone 8 and Kindle Fire apps.

    Land of Nod was founded 18 years ago as an online retailer of furniture, décor and bedding for infants and kids but has since become an omnichannel operator with an upscale brand.
     
    The company currently operates five stores in California, Illinois and Seattle. Managing director Michelle Kohanzo shared some perspective on what it’s like to work at an omnichannel retailer in the latest installment of This Is Retail from the National Retailer Federation.

  • Now open: Fremaux Town Center in Slidell, La.

    Covington, La. And Chattanooga, Tenn. — Phase I of Fremaux Town Center in Slidell, La., opened on Friday, according to the property’s joint developers Stirling Properties and CBL & Associates Properties.

    Kohl’s, Dick’s Sporting Goods, Best Buy and T.J.Maxx anchor the 352,342-sq.-ft. center, which is more than 95% leased.

  • NRF weighs in on February retail sales

    Many retailers have pointed to a persistent and severe winter for weak holiday and fourth-quarter sales. But according to the National Retail Federation (NRF), retail sales rebounded in February.

    The NRF said that February retail sales, excluding automobiles, gas stations and restaurants, increased 0.2% adjusted month-to-month and 2.3% unadjusted year-over-year.

  • NRF opposes changing overtime rules

    Washington, D.C. - The National Retail Federation (NRF) is publicly opposing any change in current regulations regarding overtime pay. In a prepared statement issued in response to reports that President Obama will propose a change in federal overtime rules, David French, senior VP for government relations for the NRF, said current overtime rules have been in effect for 10 years and are working.

  • New sourcing vision shared with Walmart suppliers

    Walmart deepened its commitment to domestic sourcing and supply chain efficiency on Thursday when Walmart U.S. president and CEO Bill Simon unveiled a first-of-its-kind RFP process and a new Innovation Fund.

    Both revelations came at an event Walmart holds each spring in Orlando known as the Year Beginning Meeting, or simply YBM. While much of the several day event is focused on Walmart store managers, a portion is devoted to trading partners who are given the opportunity to hear from top executives.

  • Yelp launches in Mexico

    Mexico City -- Yelp Inc. has announced the availability of Yelp Mexico. Beginning March 13, people throughout Mexico are able to create accounts on Yelp.com.mx to share their opinions about great local businesses.

    Yelp's free iPhone and Android applications will be available as well as its free suite of business owner tools: Yelp for Business Owners.

  • DSW opens new store in Iowa March 20

    Columbus, Ohio – DSW Inc. opens a new store in Davenport, Iowa on March 20. As of March 20, DSW will operate 398 stores in 42 states, the District of Columbia and Puerto Rico.

    DSW Rewards is a free loyalty program in which customers earn certificates toward future DSW purchases and receive special member-only offers. Customers can also participate in a Shoe Lover community on Facebook to receive exclusive offers and giveaways.
