  • Miracle Mile welcomes new retail tenants

    Chicago -– During the upcoming winter, Miracle Mile Shops at Planet Hollywood Resort & Casino will convert nearly 6,000-sq.-ft. of open space into four new retail destinations by welcoming M•A•C Cosmetics, Desigual and Lush Fresh Handmade Cosmetics and opening a larger, renovated House of Hoops by Foot Locker. M•A•C Cosmetics opens in December, followed later in the winter by global apparel retailer Desigual.  
  • Sears seeks fit with 'Reserve It' service

    Just in time for the peak holiday shopping season, Sears is introducing "Reserve It" – a free service that lets Shop Your Way members pick out apparel and footwear in stock at their local Sears, put the items on hold, and then try them on once they arrive at the store.

  • Sam’s Club launches online Black Friday sale on Thanksgiving

    Bentonville, Ark. –- Sam’s Club will launch its Black Friday sale online on Thursday, Nov. 27 just after midnight EST with free standard shipping on Black Friday items. Members can continue shopping in clubs starting at 7 a.m. on Friday, Nov. 28.   
  • Dayton Mall to introduce Artec Group Shapify Booth

    Dayton, Ohio -- The Dayton Mall is launching the Shapify Booth, a 3D full body scanner from Artec Group, on Tuesday, Nov. 18 in the mall’s center court. The booth takes a full scan of a person in 12 seconds, which is then 3D printed to create a full-color figurine called a “Shapie.”  
  • HHgregg trumps Best Buy on Turkey Day

    HHgregg CEO Dennis May said the retailer is approaching Black Friday differently this year, including opening its stores earlier than Best Buy on Thanksgiving Day and offering 40% storewide discounts.

    HHgregg will open its stores at 4 p.m. on the holiday, an hour earlier than Best Buy and two hours earlier than most other retailers who plan to open Thanksgiving Day. The retailer also said its Black Friday Now promotion will begin Nov. 20 and run through Nov. 29 and will offer up to 40% off all items in the store.

  • RadioShack expands Fix It Here service

    RadioShack continues to roll out its new “Fix It Here!” service as it looks to become more relevant with shoppers.

    The company announced the new mobile device repair service is now available in at least 30 stores in the Houston area. The move is part of an ongoing national rollout expected to have the service in 750 locations by year end. The service is currently offered at 650 stores.

    RadioShack is looking to increase sales during the crucial holiday shopping season, and the new service is seen as a way to generate store traffic and sales.

  • Lord & Taylor unveils 2014 holiday window

    New York -- Entertainer Nick Jonas joined Lord & Taylor/Hudson’s Bay president Liz Rodbell for the unveiling of the department store’s annual holiday windows on NYC’s Fifth Avenue on Thursday, marking the 100th anniversary of the retailer’s holiday window program.
