  • Acosta Mosaic Group unveils purchase design agency for retailers

    Acosta Mosaic Group, the marketing division of Acosta Sales and Marketing, has launched Shopper Solutions, a newly formed agency which combines AMG’s retailer-facing marketing services in the U.S. and Canada and is designed to deliver a streamlined offering to clients across North America.

    Touted by the firm as North America’s only purchase design agency for retailers, Shopper Solutions will allow North American retailers to engage their shoppers online and in-store through “captivating shopper experiences.”

  • Class action suit filed against Tile Shop

    Plymouth, Minn. -- The Shareholders Foundation, Inc. has filed a lawsuit on behalf of certain purchasers of Tile Shop common stock over alleged violations of federal securities laws in connection with certain allegedly false and misleading statements made between August 22, 2012 and November 13, 2013. The plaintiff alleges that the defendants failed to disclose that one of its largest suppliers, Beijing Pingxiu, is an undisclosed related company secretly controlled by Fumitake Nishi, the brother-in-law of the company's CEO and a Tile Shop employee.

  • CVS appoints new executive VP of health plans

    Woonsocket, R.I. -- CVS Caremark has appointed Tracy Bahl to the position of executive VP, health plans. In this role, Bahl will lead the teams responsible for supporting health plan clients while also offering health plans guidance.

  • Gap launches omni-channel holiday marketing campaign

    San Francisco -- Gap's new global marketing campaign, "Make Love,” includes print, outdoor, direct mail, social and cinema, as well as new digital content daily.

  • Delhaize America signs long-term agreement with Nielsen

    New York — Nielsen, a provider of information and insights into what consumers watch and buy, has announced that Delhaize America has signed a long-term agreement selecting Nielsen as its primary information, insights and analytics partner.  

    Delhaize, the parent company of Food Lion, Hannaford, and Bottom Dollar Food, will use Nielsen tools, data and resources to help guide its strategic and tactical business needs. 

  • All Data Leads to the Customer

    Workforce management data, such as time and attendance and payroll, is generally seen as information pertaining to the back end of retail operations. Managing employees is an activity that generally does not involve front-end customer interaction and data generated from this activity is usually siloed from the data retailers use to help guide their customer-facing activities.

  • Former Sears exec cooking at Electrolux

    Electrolux has named former Sears executive Nolan Pike as SVP and GM of its North American cooking business.

    Pike most recently worked for Sears as their Kenmore brand VP and GM and as the top merchant for Sears Home Appliances, the nation’s largest appliance retailer. Additionally, Pike spent many years in manufacturing and led the development, launch and product management of several notable cooking lines.

  • MarineMax names Denny’s exec to board

    Clearwater, Fla. – Recreational boat retailer MarineMax has named Frances Allen, executive VP and chief brand officer for Denny’s Corporation, to its board of directors. Prior to joining Denny’s, Allen was chief marketing officer for Dunkin Donuts. Her prior roles also include managing marketing efforts at Sony Ericsson Mobil Communications, Pepsi-Cola North America and Frito-Lay.
